I hate it when people don't call first

before coming over. I have a new neighbor and he thinks it is cool just to show up. I don't play that game because I think it is not courteous, I just let him stand at the door and ring the bell. LOL I live on the fifth floor also so he has to climb all the way up here for nothing! I have an elevator but you have to get buzzed in there, once again I don't answer the drop by elevator either!

I wouldn't answer the door if my mom came without calling. She is nosey and would be going through my shit, I have to sanitize for her benefit when she comes over. She doesn't want to know her son even has sex yet alone is a porn junkie.

Oh wow. You'd love my set up here. i live next door to the MIL. She comes not only unnanounced, but she unlocks our front door with her key we gave her FOR EMERGENCIES! She does ring the bell, but she rings it, then starts unlocking the door with the key. I had to sprint to the front door to ALWAYS open it while she still has the key in the lock just to let her know "I'll come and open quickly enough for you". After a few months of this (almost daily thing), she stopped unlocking it with her key. Well, that, and the fact she lost our key. I haven't given her a replacement yet.

OK Now for my condo where i used to live. It was 3 floors up and we had a buzzer to let people in. This system was abused all the time because people would ring any bell just to get into the building. I would just never answer unless you CALLED FIRST and let me know you were coming. I've told everyone, just call first! It's not hard, just call and I'll let you in. Don't come ringing my bell!

No, because I don't answer the door even though my car is in the driveway so they know I'm probably home... A few times of doing that and no more unwelcomed visits. It is rude to show up uninvited.
