Speaking from 36 years of experience, you need to find a way to end it. Trust me, after you two broke up she totally trashed you to her friends and family to make herself look good. Be the better person, when my mom asked why my marriage failed with my ex-wife I just said,"We just weren't compatible but I loved her."
 
Thing is I know she is the proud type. I talked to her sister at the bar a few months ago and minutes later when I went to get a drink she said "(my ex) says hi". I also talked to her after that and we were on good terms. Surprised me a bit because I know things didn't end completely smoothly. Thing was I didn't know what I wanted at the time; we were basically set up by someone else, but the more time I spent with her the more I realized it would be tough to find another like her. My dumbass fucked it up though by not being attentive enough and slightly immature. She started acting distant and I know that's basically why.

There's a couple other chics I have my sights on (one is a pretty sure thing) but the history isn't there. My ex and I could've worked if I had my act together. That's where I am here.

The main thing......she has a 5 yr old son. The kid is great and "loved me" from what she said, but I consider myself a responsible person, and being a stand in dad was just something I wasn't ready for. Sometimes now I think "what the hell". I've thought of contacting her again but I'd have to have no loose ends on my end because if I went back it would be for the long haul.

Actually briefs would hold a grenade a lot better than boxers.

Yeah I feel bad at how things ended up between us but I also realize there's still a lot in front of me. The only way I'll know is to find out how she feels and go from there. I have no problem taking either avenue, but it's half up to her before I make a final decision.
