I don't know shit...

Now then.. hows this for a shopping list? (just picked this up)

Brown Rice
Oatmeal
Boneless skinless chicken tenders
Apples, Peaches, Bananna's
100% whole wheat bread
Turkey breast slices (no fat, no carbs, 4g of protein per slice)
Natural cheese slices (mild cheddar, and monteray jack)
Total Cereal
Head of Iceberg Lettuce

I also made sandwhich when I got home.. 4 slices of the turkey breast, 1 slice of cheese, 2 slices bread.. and about a tablespoon of regular mayo (for fat), and a 2 inch thick layer of lettuce. This a good meal for dinner?...

Brown Rice = Carbs
Oatmeal = Carbs
Boneless skinless chicken tenders = Pro + Fat
Apples, Peaches, Bananna's = Carbs
100% whole wheat bread = Carbs
Turkey breast slices (no fat, no carbs, 4g of protein per slice) = Pro
Natural cheese slices (mild cheddar, and monteray jack) = Pro + Fat
Total Cereal = Carbs
Head of Iceberg Lettuce = Low carbs

I hope you're bulking...

No.. im cleaning up my diet though.. no junk food.. no fast food..... I asked for help on the diet board.. and all i got was reply's telling me to do DNP and such...

weasel, that's a shitload of carbs, good carbs, but a shitload of them nonetheless. from what i remember of your posts and pictures you don't exactly want to be bulking right now. you hang out here so damn much but you don't know that what you should be buying is a shitload of tuna and chicken breasts?? not a flame per se, just that i don't get how you can be on elite all the time and not know that what you'd need is lots of protein to get the results you're probably looking for.

Thats not a sandwich thats a fucking salad. What the hell do you need all that lettuce for? Add more turkey and only a little lettuce (doesnt matter healthwise but its just more manly). Also fuck the mayo, spicy brown mustard is much tastier.

Those carbs are pretty high-glycemic. Drop the Total, and stick to oatmeal.

whole grain products are all actually pretty low on the glycemic index dude. and that's what not only oatmeal, but also brown rice and whole wheat bread are. it's the white rice and white bread that suck.

No, I understand, but I'd bet off the top of my head that Total is a higher glycemic carb than oatmeal, and he sure doesn't need the sugar in the fruit.

ok, then we are in agreement :)

Bro Im not a dieticien or nutrition but you must think your Shaggy or something making a sandwitch like that. just put down a chicken breast and a slice of bread and get LIT UP. Its all about oatmeal and protein to get big. You live in Texas don't you? You gotta come to Killeen sometime and we'll train.

Whole wheat bread has corn syrup. Corn syrup is high glycemic. I don't know any serious "cutting" diet that includes processed crap food like bread.

spatts! i can't believe what you're saying! not ALL bread is highly processed. the bread i ate just a few hours ago has just whole wheat flour, water, salt, and yeast as ingredients. try goin to a natural foods store sometime, you'll be surprised at all the good stuff they have :p but yeah, he doesn't need that many carbs if he wants to cut.

If you can "cut" eating bread, more power to you. I personally stick to whole foods. Flour is processed. It is SO far from being the nutritional equivalent of raw oats.

...and I think I've been to a natural foods store or two in my life.

Looks like someone just got sent back to SCHOOL.

Rye bread is the best bread to eat when the glycemic index is being scrutinized.

i don't mind getting schooled... that's why i come to elite, to learn =P. i really was under the impression that in whole wheat bread, that the only "processing" the grain undergoes is getting ground up. i know that in white bread the wheat grain is stripped apart and bleached and such, but i thought that whole wheat grain did not undergo any processing other than being ground up. i guess i was wrong?

I'm not per say "cutting".. but rather.. just trying to lose weight... and was under the impression that cleaning up the diet (no fast food, junk food), with some good cardio and some weight training would do so.. I don't mind losing some muscle, if it means losing the fat faster... I will be doing a bulking/muscle building cycle after I lose the gut...

I would encourage you to find ways to spare muscle and lose fat. You can do it SLOWLY. Muscle increases metabolism and will help you burn more cals (and therefore fat) in the long run.

Ask yourself what the food has to OFFER YOU. The foods with the most vitmains and minerals also tend to be low cal, low in high GI carbs, low in sat fat, etc...

Not to sound like an ass... but Such as??? I posted a thread for help on the diet forum.. and havent received any recommendations.. so I just went to the store and bought while I still had money.

"Such as" meaning foods, or such as meaning methods of losing fat slowly in order to preserve muscle?

I truly don't care about losing muscle right now though.. I have quite a bit of it.. I need to get rid of the gut (30lbs MAX should do it).. then I will do a bulking.. or semi bulking cycle...

I did a search with your name, and "cutting diet".. and couldn't find what you were talking about.. which thread exactly were you talking about? Sorry if I am a pain in the ass...
