Now, I had the same problem this morning. Woke up and it was almost 100% plugged up. Now it just popped and I'm back to aobut 80% hearing in that ear again.

Weird. Well, only solution is to go have some oatmeal and drop a deuce. IMO

Because your ears popped and cleared, I think you were just stopped up in your ear canal. You can buy drops at the drugstore for that. You can also tilt your head and administer a capful of hydrogen peroxide to the affected ear, wait about 30 seconds and then drain.
