I Bought 2005 GSXR 1000 Yesterday from A Chick Oh My Gosh

How many bikes do you have now curling? Gixxers used to be my favorite bikes untill that hideous thing came out.

I am buying an '04(Only year they make the silver color scheme) Silver R1 in March...How much do you think I will be able to get away with paying around then for one with less than 3k miles?

What kind of exhaust is that?? Never seen a pipe that short.

Looks like the guy cut the pipe down mine is longer than that.

I have three. That is actually what I started with before the fire. I am going to keep the 750 for the track and stand up wheelies plus it is more confortable for my wife and daughters. I like motorcycles, would still like to get an Ultra Harley or a BMW 1200lt because they have stereos(mine would have an amp in each bag. and be obnoxiously LOUD!

Hideous? I think it is an awesome looking bike. Why don't you like it? Maybe the exhaust but they already have goodlooking aftermarket for that. And dude the bike is a winner every test rider has said so. You should test drive one before you make your decision. The 04' silver is a bad ass bike and a wheelie machine a friend of mine can literally ride miles and doing all kinds of combos on it.

As far as the R1 are talking brand new or an 05? With 3k I think about 8.3(lowest) to about 9.4.

Not knockin the gixxer in any way...my last bike was an '01 sixxer I bought back in '03. I just don't like the tail...actually the only aesthtics I like on it is the front...too bad for me that it is indeed the baddest 1K on the market.

The R1 is going to be an '04 since that is the only year they made the silver. I would go with an '05 only if I found a Raven for less than I would a silver. I was hoping I could find one in the mid 7's. What do you think?

Why the R1 why not the 04' GSXR they made it in a silver. And if you looked hard enough you might find one(or the yamaha)for that cheap but you would have to look hard with that low of miles but probably Well heck here is your bike right here if you have to have the yamaha

Too much black on the Gixxer...if i were to go with that body I would go with the '03 all silver. But I absolutley love the undertail exhaust on the R1 and how it cleans up the lines so well. So what you are sayis it will be pretty hard to find what I want in that price range?

No, not after looking. I mean both those bikes are for sale right now at those prices so in March they will probably be the cheaper(because they are older) even though riding season is starting again then. I don't think you will have any problem.

Come on fogg88 you are a rider aren't ya? And remember I bought her a brand new beamer and I drive an old truck.

PBR,

Dang dude this bike is fast. And handles very well I would have to pratice a while before I took it to the track. How did your friend eat it? Is the insurance giving him a new one?

Milo,

Whatever dude.
i posted on some other thread...it was weird..my group split up into two...each going a different direction...for some freak reason, they all wound up on the same canyon hours later in the day...but no one knew that.
my friend on a restored RD 400 Yam went into a shadowed curve where water was running across...he slid out into the path of my other friend head-on.... broke his femur in multiple places and had to be Medi-Vac'd out by Helo...he was in ICU....both bikes were picked up with a broom and dust-pan....dont know if insurance is covering yet...the Gixxer bro is sore but ok...we are all taking a couple weeks off...we've had bad crashes every week...need to chill out...but cant stay down too long- gotta stay sharp.

Dang, radical. Hill country riding in cheaper and fun but sure are dangerous that is what we were doing saturday. Those shadow curves totally freak you out. You can't tell where the corner ends.

I think the way to do it is to do the road first both ways at 50 to 60% study them well then just attack those turns instead of riding virgin roads blindly.

Hope your friends turn out alright.
