I am helping out a buddy to get started - tell me what you think.

Thanks for the ideas bros. I agree on the shoulder work - but I still don't think dips instead of bent over rows is going to kill him for 8 weeks.

I told him 3x a week is best, but he was honest with me about the 2x, so we work with what we have. It is not a matter of laziness, he is playing hockey and fall league baseball, it kind of eats up your time.

Once he gets a feel of what is natural to him and what he really hates (for instance, I can't do close-grip bench, bad wrists - he may have a similar issue with dips or bench or something.

pullups are great, but I don't want to demoralize him if he can only do 3...lat pulldowns for 8 weeks, then we can start working pullups.
