Hurt myself doing straight bar curls

str8cubano

New member
I was doing the str8 bar with arms supinated bicep curls and doing pretty heavy weight for me on an anavar cycle. During, and after the exercise, my radius (outer side of forearm I think) hurts like hell. Hurts almost like a fracture, but I Dont think it could be that. WHat could it be?

That happened to me a lot when i was doing arm work and believe me man, you don't want to aggravate it. I'm not sure exactly what it was but I took to taping my wrist and loading up on ibuprofen before a workout because it hurt so bad. Eventually I just decided to take a month off from curls and other similar movements that isolate the arm. Whatever you do, if it hurts, just take some ibuprofen and don't do the curls because curls were the #1 source of aggravation for me. If you keep curling with a wrist injury its gonna start to affect your other upper body lifts so just take it easy.

its just on the outer area of the forearm. And it always always used to happen only on the straight bar doing curls. But this time it happened bad cause it was heavy weight...

I tend to have the same problem. Does it hurt like hell when you set the bar down and it feels like you can't turn your hands over?

I don't have the exact same problem, but have (had) similar aggravations that probably could have been prevented by 20-20 hindsight.
If you're comfortable not seeing the doctor, I've found this stuff to be effective. Just rub over the affected area before workout and you'll be good to go, although lator on you may need another dose. They also have 2 stronger versions in stock if you're adventurous.
The other thing I do is a couple of light, 20 rep sets at the end of the workout to stretch the muscle. Don't use a weight that's going to cause strain, just enough to let you know it's still there. The active recovery concept. It seems helpful.

Does it hurt like hell when you let go of the weight? If so it's normal and you should just rest it.
yes...that has always been normal for me, and I let go of the weight and turn my hands over very...very slowly, but this time....whoa....80mgs of anavar and ive done test before, but this time, it was like an exageration of pain...just on my right arm...and its been a good 4 days later..still feel fucked up...just when I pull though...it got to hurting bad after 3 days though

again, yea pretty much..just this time it hurts an awful lot. I broke my arm twice (right arm) when I was a kid, so I have a tendency to belive my bones are weak because of that...maybe thats why only my right arm hurts like hell..not sure...
