Huck, about Usnic Acid

Q Modo

New member
Why did you close that other thread on Usnic Acid? There was no flaming, or anything other than interesting info being posted.

Anyway could you tell us where the research studies/other possible proof is that makes you agree with MR.X are? You said that you have seen something that now makes you no longer recomend UA... What and where?

Here's why he said he closed it.

I'm closing this thread.I originally posted it almost a year ago(not sure who bumped it up out of the archives) when UA was a hot newcommer on the market.Since then,I have seen research supporting what Mr.X has further touched on,and I no longer think of it as an item worth experimenting with. There are lots of other great fat loss products out there which are much safer.

Since usnic acid is still on the market and since the evidence is somewhat less than conclusive, it might be nice to allow folks a chance to evaluate the evidence if anyone has some to make their minds up. If this is as dangerous as some believe, let's see the science so we can make an educated jusdgement. Or is this not a forum for learning anymore...........

Exactly my point. He never mentions where he has seen this research. I`m not looking to argue, but I would like to know what research he`s talking about.

The thread got bumped, probably because people are interested in UA related info. It just doesn`t seem to make alot of sense to close a good thread for no apparent reason.

he closed the thread because it had his name all over it and he does not want his name associated with it..

ie.. changed his mind.. you can start a new post..

usnic acid has been a dead topic because it did not produce anything.. the new sellers of this have brought it back to the forefront..

IMHO anyone selling this product has absolutely no care for the safety or health of the consumer..

not a one of them even intimates that it MIGHT be unhealthy..

Wow. Impressive. You must be special.

Mac: I can understand him not wanting his name over a thread that promotes what may be a harmful product.
Rather than saying he`s seen research that supports the statement that Usnic Acid is dangerous, he should have just said he doesn`t know, and doesn`t think people should take the chance on an unknown/untested product. That would have been better, but then again perhaps he doesn`t need to defend his actions.

So let's see some of this dangerous evidence. I went on medline and read every reference to usnic acid and sodium usniate and have to tell you that I did not find anything that startling. Perhaps some of the more knowledgeable science types could give us an interpretation. Right now we just have some naysayers telling us how dangerous it is.

I had about half a dozen research documents saved that were lost when I switched over to a new computer, and they were not good...Beyond that,my dislike of UA is now personal.I have a close female friend who decided to give UA a shot after hearing all the wonderful things about it.She experienced very good results in terms of weight loss. She also ended up in the hospital with liver failure, and now because of this wonderful compound may spend the rest of her life on medications for her liver. So in actuality, the things that I've read on paper don't mean jack shit to me in comparison to what I've witnessed in real life.My friend may be permanently fucked up from this crap, and it hurts me inside to not have stopped her from using it,so I sure as hell will dissuade anyone else I care about(which is all you guys)from taking that gamble. What you choose to do is up to you,but I will not endorse a product that I have seen cause devastation first hand.
