HST made me puke tonight

I am on my second week of HST, so I am on day 4 of the 15 reps and let me tell you guys, for anyone who thinks it is easy, you are sorely mistaken. About half way through I just had to vomit. I can usually handle some pretty intense shit, but today those high reps just got to me. Anyways, just wanted to share.

It sucks, especially being that I never really train above 5. I am so glad that this is my last week. After 15 reps of Squats or SLDL's I feel like I ran a marathon.

Yeah, the 15s are so much harder than I thought they would be, given the lighter weights (compared to 5s). Tough stuff. Good work man!

true sometimes but why not hit both rep ranges in one workout if you want to do some tough stuff, gog 5x5 and then some 2x15 excercises. You might like it

Thats what i used to do. I was usually 2x10 though, but I did like it.

Heh heh...I hear ya. The workout you did today's probably set up like the full-body routines I did over 10 years ago. I puked after probably 50% of those, though I was moving really fast from movement to movement  (Damn it, Art.) A few times I saw stars and hit the deck. Not pleasant.

What all did you do? I'm imagining how "fun" it'd be to hit 15 reps on squats, SLDL, barbell rows, chins, dips, calf raises, curls, etc. ...FUN, FUN, FUN! ;)

Otherwise, how do you like HST so far? From what I recall you are big and really strong, so how do the lighter weights feel...other than vomit-inducing, of course? :)

awesome job on the vomiting, few people know what its like to work that hard bro

im thinkin of doing this routinemyself in a few weeks because it sounds great, but how do warmups work? are you guys just going straight into your main set of squats, then main set of bench, etc, or do you do some sort of warmup sets or stretching?

It's pretty weird to be doing such lights weights on major lifts. It hurts my ego.:D 15 reps on SLDL flat out sucks, but I enjoy the challenge. It reach breathing failure before muscular failure on many lifts. I cant wait to get to 5's,which is where my real strength is at. I am only on my second week so I cant speak as far as results, but the workout itself feels really good. I like the feeling of all my muscles working 3 times a week.

I really only warm up for chest and legs as they are my first two lifts. After that you are pretty warm. I stretch before I get to legs as well. I may do a few reps of a light weight on a movement just practice the movement, but I generally don't that often except for BB curls where I do the bar for like 10 reps. I may to do a few extra warmups when I get to heavy weights in the 5's. I shall have wait and see how it feels.

You want to do the major compound muscle exercises first, so I did squats (legs), then incline press (chest), then back. I did several warmup sets for each of those (3-4). After that I just did the 1-2 work sets for my other exercises.
