HRT 100mgs a week or 200 every 2 weeks

39 and on hrt. Doc says to use 200mgs every two weeks. I understand ester half lives but wouldnt blood levels be more stable at 100 mgs a week. I have pondered this for some time. Comments please...

Yes, without any doubt for enanthate or any shorter ester. For enan or cyp, most juicers prefer every four days or twice per week rather than weekly.

If you can be bothered waiting for it to load, you can 'experiment' with different dosing schedules and amounts Here.

Neet link BW, in reference to HRT it would seem to me a 100mgs every 7 days would be a more stable dose. With the half life of Cyp being 7 days, would you not agree?

Drrman looked into cyp half life a while back. I'll see whether I can dig out the links but the half life was more like 4.5 or 5 days rather than 7.

I think you'll be fine with 100mg once per week but if you notice a tailing off of the benefits towards the end of the week then consider moving to E4D.

This is a post of Drrman's from another site during a discussion after a member there was insisting the half-life is 10 days:

"Mean half-life estimates for testosterone-enanthate and dihydrotestosterone were 5 and 7 days, respectively"

you can read that here
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=2333732&dopt=Abstract

"It has a half life, a bit longer, of 4.5 days. You see here again the pharmacokinetic simulation with the different injection intervals. You see that within 2 weeks after injection you have immediately "
from here: http://www.agingmale2004.com/transcript-Kliesch.htm

www.roidcalc.com also lists it at 5 days, you can check there

again, the 10 days is MISINFORMATION....i too believed it for YEARS.....i was wrong and so are you

here is some more

"The claim that Omnadren has a duration effect of "a good 2-3 weeks" is somewhat misleading since the half life of the longest lived component is only about 5 days. There is of course some effect 2 or 3 weeks after injection, but relatively little"

from: http://www.mesomorphosis.com/steroid-profiles/omnadren-250.htm

"The injectable ester testosterone propionate is not generally used alone for testosterone replacement therapy because of the need to dose it every 2 to 3 days owing to its short half-life. The intermediate-release testosterone esters testosterone enanthate and cypionate are currently the most widely used forms. They have similar kinetics and are usually dosed every 7 to 14 days. Following a 200-mg injection of either testosterone cypionate or enanthate in hypogonadal men aged 20 to 40 years, serum testosterone levels are increased above the normal range for 1 to 5 days and then typically fall to subnormal levels by 14 days"

here is you a chart showing a 5 day half life
http://www.medibolics.com/images/frequenc.jpg

notice the levels at 10 days, and thats from medibolics.com

and this

"Comparative pharmacokinetics of testosterone enanthate and testosterone cyclohexanecarboxylate as assessed by serum and salivary testosterone levels in normal men.

Schurmeyer T, Nieschlag E.

The pharmacokinetics of 2 testosterone esters, testosterone enanthate and testosterone cyclohexanecarboxylate, were compared in a single blind crossover study in healthy young men. Their effects on serum and salivary levels of testosterone, as well as on the serum levels of LH, FSH and prolactin were measured after the injection of doses equivalent to 140 mg free testosterone. Both preparations yielded supraphysiological testosterone levels in serum and saliva as early as 2 h following injection, reaching peak levels 4 to 5 times above basal between 8 and 24 h. LH and FSH levels were suppressed as long as serum testosterone levels were elevated. Nine days after injecting testosterone enanthate and 7 days after giving testosterone cyclohexanecarboxylate, serum and salivary levels of testosterone had returned to basal. The longer activity of testosterone enanthate was also evidenced from more extended suppression of gonadotrophin levels. Although neither preparation is ideal because of the initial supraphysiological peaks, testosterone enanthate appears preferable for clinical use because of its slightly longer duration of action.
--------------------------------------------------
Nine days after injection of Enanthate serum level returned to normal, which gives us 4.5 days of half life."

With that low dose you would be injecting 50 mg's or 1/4 cc every 84 hours if you split your week in half. I'm an older guy and do 250mg per week i like to split it up,Monday morn 8 am Thursday evening 8 pm. It's just habit but it does get your body used to the hormone at the same time.

That's were HCG supplementation comes into play.... the last 2 days before your next shot.... best thing that every happened to me... 250IU each day prior and I don't miss a beat...

If he is giving you test c or e, I'd go with 50 each Sun and Thurs. Let's smooth out that roller coaster ride.

Throw in 0.25 a-dex Mon and Fri to prevent nipple problems.

How do I know? 5 years experience. I'm 63.

i just started 200mg cyp. once a week, just started my 2nd week. i barely feel any different, the sex drive seems normal. i cant imagine 100mg every 2 weeks doing anything.

Give it time, maybe another two to three weeks. If you aren't adding something to regulate oestrogen then excess oestrogen can quash your libido. It shouldn't be much of an issue yet, though.
