How will the USA receive their Olympic Basketball team back home

Let's recap

they won't stay in the olympic village with all those fucking commoners, after all they are stars. they got their own luxury yaught in the bay

they lose to puerto rico and lithuania. Each US player makes more money than these countries spend on their budget every year

I recommend you PARADE them. on a garbage truck. and people can throw rotten fruit and vegetables at them and yell "BOOOOOOO YOU'RE SHIT! YOU SUCK! WE'RE ASHAMED OF YOU! BOOOOOOOO"

Then you give all the money these guys own to the US gold medal winners. just split it fairly between them.

We already have them portrayed as whiney primadonna's.

No one is either shocked nor appalled that they are losing. I actually am happy they are getting humbled.

Fuck 'em.

Ill crack up if one of them gets interviewed and says "Well, the most important thing is, I've had a really great time!"

No it's not.

Could of sent Stevie Wonder and he'd have had "a great time" wouldn't he?
You're shit.

I think they should stay in Greece.

They just lost again!

I'm not that familair with the NBA
I think Duncan is low key and cool
and only know Iverson as an egomaniac
the other guys I watched today seemed to be decent appearing
who besides Iverson is a schmuck?

You are trying to think rationally 4ever. the point was to nag

stop spoiling it

yeah duncan is a pretty cool guy, maybe we can sneak him into the country unseen and nobody will notice he's missing from the loser parade

as for the yacht
perhaps they were taking measures to avoid a terrorist bombing?

well they've hardly played together as a team, plus it's a pretty young team.

america needed to get its ass kicked in basketball so they don't pull a stunt like this again.

Ok to recap for all the foreigners in here:
1. Most americans think NBA stars are a bunch of whining, overpaid athletics.
2. Most americans don't give a shit about olympics.
3. Most of us are glad that USA basketball team got its ass handed to them by Lithuanian.

So if your point was to start some sort of country pride war, its not gona happen, get over it.

Btw, usa is number 1 in overall, and most gold medal received, but who gives a shit!

Where's the French BBall team? I bet they aren't showering. shaving, or brushing thier teeth...

Everyone and thier mama knows the NBA is where it's at. Those guys puerto rico and lithuania wanna be NBA stars. This team is no dream team. When Richard Jefferson is leading the team in points then something definitly wrong. But I am surprised with Tim Duncan, and AI how they can lose. US team doesn't play together , they all have egos. This squad is very young as well.
(Carmello , Lebron)

The US-NBA team may pull it out yet. If they don't they will not come home together, but make private arrangements to fly to thier summer homes and not emerge again until their respective NBA teams start fall camp.

I would like to see us go back to the days when the US Olympic basketball team dominated the world using our college amateurs.

I think those days are over. THe rest of the world is catching up.

They should limit the NBA players to 25 and under.

1. Speak for yourself. Tim Duncan is a perfect example of a great professional with a great attitude
2. Speak for yourself. I want to see red white and blue dominate all sports!
3. They lost by 4 points How is that as ass kicking?

I will agree with you here. No dream team here. Bunch of young guys. Carmello Just graduated from Syracuse. Labron is younger than most anyone on any team.

It's sad but true, no one I know really cares about the olympics, im actually pissed because leno and conan aren't on for the next week because of that.

I think we all take for granted how superior american athletes are to the rest of the world.

The rest of the world ain't catchin' shit...

There's no Shaq or Jermaine Oneal , Kobe , KG , Rasheed , Ben Wallace , Vince Carter, Ray Allen , Mike Bibby , Bobby Jackson, Chris Webber , Michael Finley, Allan Houston, Kenyon Martin , Jason Kidd , Steve Nash, Michael Redd...

The list of players we don't have out thiere is tremendous

Although, if I were a scout or in charge of one of the lower placed teams in the NBA, I would really consider firing all my people and hiring everyone on Team Greece or any other team that beat the "dream" team...

I think you have a long time for that because of the priorities. I would imagine that a budding NBA wanna-be star would care more about the millions to play in the NBA then a gold medal...

They need to forget about these dream teams and bring back college players or bring in the team that won the most recent NBA title. You can't duplicate the very first dream team. The sequels are never as good as the original.

I would agree partially. Players from Greece , Puerto Rico and Lithuania will be signed or drafted. Everyone wants to make money and everyone wants to win. So I will agree that geting the best players will involve looking outside the US for them. But this has been the trend for the last 10 years or so anyway.

What nobody is mentioned is how the Lithuanians are actually pretty goddamn good team. They found their open man so fast and so consistently, they got a crazy free throw %, and their shooting was absurdly accurate altogether. That one guy in particular who downed 4 3 pointers in the last 10 minutes was incredible

Do you guys think we'll see some of these guys in the NBA soon?

Bingo.

We don't even have our C squad over there.

Steve Nash ain't American :)

Good point though, if this team had Duncan, Shaq, KG, Carter, McGrady, Kobe etc. with a point guard that wasn't a ballhog and a few dead-eye shooters like Ray Allen, game over.
