How to restart deads after four weeks off?

I'll be doing deads again this week after four full weeks off. Had some busy stuff that interfered and them some tired bad attitude work out partner that drug me down. It was nice needed rest after 8 weeks of straight hard deads. Anyway my last workout was with 345 for 5x5 should I start there lower or higher this coming dead workout?

I want to be safe but when I first started deads ever I was at 315. I know that muscle looses its strength quickly but I was thinking of being back to 350 by the third week. I don't want to spend that much time getting back and I don't think I'm that week already.

I would go by feel. :)

If your form breaks at 60%, stop there. If you can hold it higher, go for it.

Id gage how you feel and try to hit 345 for 5x5 if possible. That way you dont have to waste a few weeks trying to get back. If it feels to heavy maybe try 320. =)

Forgot to add: Ive noticed that my deadlifts actually increased at one time, and I didnt do them for years. At the time I never DLed steadily. Barely ever. I tried DL's for the first time when I was 19 and got 300. Then at 21-22 I tried them again and got up to 365 in no time. There was also a time when I was deadlifting like once a month and I got stronger. For me deadlifts seem to stay the same or even increase when I go off. But now that Im DLing 500 Im not sure it would work the same way. What worked best for me though was deadlifting and maxing once a week on the same day, I did this for a year switching between rack pulls, deads off the floor, and some other variations and in 14 months increased 95lbs on my dead off the floor. Hope that helps

He took 4 weeks off not 4 months. As long as he was still working out his back and legs his strength isn't going to drop all that much. I'd say do a good warm up and you could probably pull 315 for reps.
