It gives you something to think about before you get under that big weight from now on.

holy shit dude... there has to be a reason that would happen.. i dont believe that happens with a weight you've done 100 times before and then just magically something like that occurs.

he fucked his shit up. Shoulda been on ona those machines that catch the shit if you fall. What a dumb fuck tryin over 600lbs on that little ass thing. heh well he is strong as fuck I couldnt even stand with over 600lbs on that shit heh

In the old school gyms back in the day there were no power racks-maybe they're just keepin' it real??? as in real stupid and behind the times!!!!

Seriously, remember Franco squating in Pumping Iron? Same set up.

ouch, my coach dumped 800lbs at the last meet we went too.....tore some mucles in his hammy but hes still training....

it is scary but that weight was probably cake to him, he just walked it out and got his footing all fucked up

He should have still had atleast a 3 person spot for that.

hehe yeah that shits nuts man I cant say shit about him though I cant even hold ove 600 lbs im pretty sure I might be able to pick it up but not squat and Im talkin like grab the bar and lift it an inch off the ground but that dudes prolly a good 80lbs heavier than me im only 196

Can you imagine him having to tell his co-workers or even his family. Yeah I was doing a 685lb squat and I got half way down and my leg cracked in half. OUch

That looked alot like Ed Coan's fall. He most likely had a pre-existing stress fracture on the left leg and it was exposed under the weight. Either way he should have been in the cage so that the falling weight didn't kill his dumb ass. It's morons like him that give pl'ers a bad rap.

lol why is everyone bashing this dude....he wasnt going for a single ME squat..

that weight was most likely something he could have handled....

but granted the cage is where I squat w/o spotters, and looks like he chose to do it without spotters so the cage is where he should have been

i think he give Pling a bad name because of his weight, not his fall.....Anyone can fall....

A guy at the gym, big dude bouncer type....benching 315, he can bench 315 for 10, 1st rep, tricep gave out, droped bar and broke a rib. Was it his fault? NO.

because there are plenty of people who post on this forum who've run many, many heavy cycles and are still weaker than the average high school kid.

I know that guy from another forum, he wasn't going for a max but I have no idea why they didnt do that inside the rack. Walkouts with 600+ can get scary

The problem is those poor legs trying to support his 400 pound fat ass plus the weight on the bar. The leg never stood a chance.

I will not look at it in case its his knee thats getting fucked up...I have like delayed stress since I tore my Quad tendon. Actually 685# for 2 reps was my best squat ever...I racked and proclaimed that was fucked up and I will never have that much weight on my back again ever...and I did not. Call me a pussy.

At this point I doubt your leg development would suffer even if you never went over 315 on squats again.

In the bodybuilding competition world how much you lift really doesn't matter. Nor does it matter in the real world either unless your goal is to impress dudes with your superhuman strength? Chicks couldn't give a fuck-unless I missed the episode of Sex And The City where the whores discuss how they only fuck guys that bench press 400lbs +. Anyway-fuck risking those heavy lifts when they're not necessary. Injuries will set you back way more than being a pussy. :qt:

This is true for you BBing sissies, but for me, PLing is more of a personal challenge....

LOL @ the sissies im only playin around, before it turns into a PL VS BB thread, as i respect you guys as much as PL's (well the ones that train right atleast)

I like having superhuman strenght. Strong legs really helps me in life, especially during sex. I feel i can DO anything like fuck my chick holder her in mid air and shit like that....PLUS with the strenght you can reall give some good thrusts of power....

but im not the fatty type PL i believe in nutrition before anything and being healthy is most important....obviously nutrition and health are not for the man squatting in the video....

Besides, Lifting Heavt + Good Big Clean Diet, i should be shredded within the year at 205 - 210 and be VERY strong while doing it....

but cracker is 100% right, injuries can set you back a LONG time... and that sucks either PLing or BBing

Agreed. Lol I use the machine that catches the weight if it falls. It has saved my neck, literally a few times... aye yai

The worst accident I've ever had lifting was one time I was doing snatches and I sprained my wrist and let go of one side of the bar and it came crashing down on my trap and gave me a stinger (like football players get in fooball) and a nastyyyyyyyy bruise.. That shit hurt like hell, i am thankful to not have sustained a head injury..

I will on squat with a power rack, I have failed too many times to not have one. Failing and living to see another day was the only way I was able to get 585 for 3 reps (my personal best).. i got the first 2 clean but BARELY made it up on #3

T-Matt

I got to the point where he lifted the bar off the rack then closed it out because that is the last thing I want to think of when I am in the squat rack tommorrow.

im supprised the 2 medal sticks held up that much weight.....hahaha....it didnt seem that back, at least the weight didnt land on him (or mabee it did and i couldnt see)

You guys are being pretty tough on Big Bird. Truthfully anyone that can even walk out that kinda weight has to be a pretty stout motherfucker.

Powerlifting doesn't have a bad rap. It's cowards who never push the envelope that give courage and dedication a bad rap.

Powerlifters are idiots. What's the point in being so big and fat and eventually injuring yourself? If one knows how to train right, they can get strong and shredded with little to no weight.

Bodybuilding is equally as retarded-no cash to diet, train, and poison yourself with roids only to lose to some gay for pay-win at all costs type competitor that sucked the head judges cock the night before the show.

At least bb's look good and some chicks are into muscle dudes... I guess?

If anyone is interested the guy's name is Brian Bacher.

Because of that accident he broke the femur in one leg, both lower bones in the other leg, and tore up one of his knees.

He's had 3 surgeries and is going to be doing alot of rehab.

If that's your idea of bb'ing then that sucks. I disagree that it is equally retarted.

Sorry-competitively speaking after 17 yrs in the gym, winning state/regional overall BB championships, and qualifying for nationals 5 yrs in a row, that's what I'm left feeling. I'd love to think bodyuilding was an objective sport that was judged fairly with no shady happenings behind the scenes, but it's not. Ignorance is bliss I guess?

From a non competitive standpoint the BB lifestyle can be very rewarding if that's what you enjoy. Maybe powerlifters enjoy feeling the way they do about their sport cuz it's what they enjoy??? I say whatever floats your boat.

The bottom line is that both sports will never be mainstream-and both sports have cult followings comprised of mainly drug abusing fags and freaks. Being the king among that crowd might be enough for some? I just feel as if I deserve more out of life than that.

i would assume the average guy here going for health and using steroids to help him stay healthy and look better is gonna live longer and that is a huge benefit. i donno, what do you guys think?

One time my back gave out when I had 315 on the bar, nothing major, but I was in the squat rack, thank God,when that happens for real, there is no time to think, you just hit the ground,I had catches set at about my waste line, cought the bar perfectly...I layed there for about 10 minutes, crawled out of the gym and into my car, dude in gym unracked my weights for me,that lifting day was over fast...sucked.

Don't feel bad-I fell backwards with 315 on my back when I was 20 yrs old. I was fine-got my membership revoked. lol I guess I played too rough?
