How to "fake" high blood pressure for a short amount of time

My wife had high blood pressure the last week/weekish of her pregnancy

Baby ended up with a stroke

I'm beside myself and deeply disturbed you'd want to do such a thing

I dont actually want to give myself high blood pressure! just give high blood pressure readings, "fake it" if thats possible. My heart is actually doing well with all the extra blood

What's your problem?!

I was at least a week over and my kid was 8 lb. 14 oz at birth. I don't remember it being that big of a deal. A lot of peeing, but other than that :whatever:

Shit, you aren't even done cooking and you're bitching already!

Pressure....unbelieveable pressure

Okay I'll try actual sex. Im bouncing on a birthing ball and drinking raspberry leaf tea and usisng EPO in more places than I wanna say. lol

I am mentally prepared for going until my due date, but Im not sure I can mentally handle going another two weeks after that. Im afraid that I will snap.

u ever had spunk in your eyes? I dont think Johnny Jr is gonna appreciate this....

 Emotional or physical? Sorry, re-read your posts, got it.

Cindy, it's just having a baby. People have been doing this for hundreds of thousands of years. If you don't lighten up you're going to have an ulcer before the kid is 2.

Go be nice to yourself and relax. This is supposed to be a joyful time in your life, not time to stress out. Find an engrossing novel, put your feet up and read. Be a lazy ass.

I dont know why Im doing this to myself!?

physical. My pelvis area has a ton of pressure on it, but I have not had one braxton hicks contraction and Im only dilated to a 1. I see the doc once a week and they just said thats her dropping or whatever and that its normal. So I just have to endure it until she comes because Im perfectly healthy and so is she. So I was just hoping not to go late. thats all. :( And then the nurse tells me that most first time Mom's go 7-14 days late and I just want to punch her. (everyone tells me that) I know its not her fault and she's just preparing me, but it makes my mind try and think of ways I can control when this baby comes....you know?

I think Im just in the thick of it, and when I look back I'll realize how silly I'm being.
Okay, re-read my previous post I edited it.

Stop with the ball bouncing shit, okay? Your joints get really fucking loose when you're getting close to your time, you could be screwing your back up. The baby's moving down, and maybe she's pressing a nerve. Try to get her to move, push a foot or something, sometimes they'll shift. Eat some ice cream, sometimes that will do it.

If that doesn't help, try laying on your back with your legs WAY up, like pile five pillows or more under your knees, you want your legs at a 45 degree angle to your torso (lying on the floor with your lower legs on a chair are perfect but that might not be logistically possible). Raising your legs when you lie down will take the pressure off your lower back and pelvis. Do this several times a day.

I'm so sorry you don't have a chiropractor, but now is not the time to find one. Another good thing to do is link your hands around your husband's neck and just let your knees sag while he supports your weight.

Most importantly, find something to engage your mind! You're thinking too much! You're uncomfortable and the more you think about it the more uncomfortable you'll be.

Okay thanks MM. I know that I need to take my focus off the uncomfortable part. I jumped right to how to control gettting this baby out, I really just should have tried some real relaxation stuff, and getting my mind off what feels uncomfortable because thats probably going to be the only thing thats going to work, because unless I actually CAN fake a high blood pressure reading (lol) Im just going to have to wait it out. So I might as well find a way to distract myself in the process.

I can do this.

Thanks for the reality check

lol Im going to look back on this thread and have a good laugh at least. lol

Grab a red pen and punch the nurse in the tits and unplug the machine and write over the screen with the marker elevated BP levels.
That's what I would do
