well you can get a job making minimum wage in IL for $7.00 baggin groceries or something like that.

Pay him what you feel he deserves and if he sucks, fire the kid.
I would pay my babysitters 6$ p/hr (that was 6 years ago) to basically housesit while my kids were sleeping and I was at work. I ALWAYS paid my baby-sitters/nannies very well. When I was dating a man that told me to hire a nanny, she made more cash money than I did when I was at my stinking job. 'Course I wasn't the one paying her, but I did decide what her wage would be.

I pay my teenage babysitter $8.00/hour
sometimes she has to feed the kids, read to them then put them to bed. sadly the one i have now is an idiot and lets my girls tell her what to do.

I just found out that student min wage here is $7.50 and adult is $8.00
I had no idea because I have never paid anybody less than $10
