how much protien is heathly for you?

a friend and i were discussing a heathly intake of protien (total grams per) to have no serious side effects (like on your kidneys)? LIke have 2 protien shakes a day (pre- and post workout) lets say consisting of around 30-40g of protien per serving, is that ok (heathy for your body? your kidneys?)
 
so your asking if 80 grams of protein a day is healthy??? thats pretty dang low if thats what you meant...

Still would say its low, I usually drink 4-5 shakes in addition to 4-5 meals a day, so I get 200-250 protein from shakes alone, just drink 1-2 gals of water and I don't see what the problem would be. I have yet to see a scientific study *proving* excess protein intake can damage the kidneys

To grow? lol I take in high pro, high carbs and med-mod fat, and usually 7-8k cal
 
aight coo then thats all i wanted to know ....now i will continue to eat like a beast and take as much protien as i want ...no matter what my wack friends say!!

yeah when i diet for a bodybuilding competitions, i have nightmares about me turning into a chicken.......... i take in about 300-400 grams of protein a day myself.

well actually im about 50lbs heavier than you......... but i also carry more fat, but strangely enough, the fat is going away just from incorporating sprints....

I was 211 this morning, but if I drank dandelion tea 3 times a day, I'd drop to 195 almost overnight. I'm holding TONS of water.

Dandlion tea, taraxatone, and drink 3 gals + of water a day. Get the water off, but keep eating. May want to switch to fibrous carbs in the evening. I've learned to not make weight. Last comp, I dropped about 10 pounds in 16 hours, and sent myself straight to the emergency room. Still competed, but not quite as strong. I'll never do it again. I set bench and deadlift PRs, but my squat wasn't there due to my kidneys. I say just be fat and give it all you got. :D

yeah........ i always dropped 20-35lbs for wrestling in high school and always performed like crap........ so all i am really doing so far is eating clean, no desert or cokes, cutting back my milk, and increasing my cardio (ie....sprints, event work, AR, and jeep pushing)

if i make it then i will really be an in shape 250, if not, i will be a really in shape 255 and be a heavyweight.

Get the taraxatone and dandelion tea too...the dandelion tea works wonders.

...and ask bigguns15 about her lemons. ;)

im not, im just basically getting in shape, that should do the trick, plus i hold a lot of water.......... so im about to start upping the water to 3 gallons a day........... that might do the trick
