How much Glutamine daily?

I read 10 G of GLutamine a day was correct amount for those involved in weightlifting,after more than a year of taking a seperate glutamine sup(along with other sups) I started to get stomach aches,bloated,etc.By process of elimination I found out,and added up all the Glutamine in protien powders,etc,and found I was taking in close to 30 G a day of glutamine,cut back and now stomach better,can any of you verify correct daily intake?
 
I am not a big fan of oral glutamine either.....if it occurs in a product I buy, so be it. But using it as a standalone I stopped a long time ago.
 
Great info all!Karma to you!I will cut way back,if not all together of the seperate glutamine sup.,of course will take what comes in protien powder.

I've never really looked into it... kept going by my old highschool mentality.

Actually come to think of it, I think it's the same stuff from highschool that I used 5 years ago.... lol, well the date was good on it. Time to go in the trash.
 
i didn't have time to read through all of that huge as post on BBF, but what was the jist of it...?

is Glutamine good or bad, and why...?

what's wrong with adding 5 grams to your protien shakes...? can you oversupplement glutamine...?

and does this stuff break down over time...? i still have a 1kg jug about half full that has a use by date of 8/2005... can i still use this stuff...?

0 because glutamine is worthless for recovery
