How Much Do You Snatch

Everyone' allways asking how much you bench or deadlift, but forget the olympic lift. ( The ultimate lift of strength)
Post your weight, age , and snatch weight

195, 17 , Snatch never maxed but I got 155 fairly easy. Just started snatches a few months ago.
 
Larry Pacifico. 5'6", 190lbs.

Squat: 885 pounds

Bench: 610 pounds (no power shirt)

Deadlift: 815 pounds

Push press off the racks: 440 pounds

Standing press: 315 pounds

Snatch: 270 pounds
Clean and Jerk: 320 pounds
 
The only time you probably have ever seen a Pro BB snatcing weight is Big Louie on pumping iron....and his form was horrible and the wieght was low.

This excersie is not really an excersise for the bodybuilder as to many injuries can be caused especially to the shoulder and rotar cuffs.

Thus not many of us talk about it because neither the mags or viedeos show or talk about it.

However you forget this is NOT just a board for bodybuilders. While most of the subjects are indeed related to BB-ing, that doesnt mean that there arent athletes, fitness competitors, models, etc. on this board.

Snatches are a good way to build explosive strength for some sports. Start with a low weight and work your way up.

Anyway, to answer your question ItsNothin, I havent done a workout with snatch in about a year or so, could get around 200 at the time.

Actually, the snatch is an exceptional exercise to strengthen the external rotators, which are often neglected in many current programs. This exercise is one of the reasons rotator cuff injuries are few and far between for Olympic lifters.

Arioch, this is probably better suited for the powerlifting or training boards, but could you provide some assistance or direction on form and how one might incorporate snatches into a routine? I don't know that I want to do them, but it would be interesting to learn more.
