how much cardio is too much cardio

Hey!! i was just wondering how much carido is too much cardio?? how many times a week is it recommended? how many times it reccommended a day? also what happens if u over do it?! thankz alot peeps layta!
 
when you say cardio, do you just mean running? or "cardio" because you can do "cardio" everyday. just have to vary it so you don't over train one particular body part
 
OHHH icic..i mean like running, dnacing, skipping, i do a whole lota things to burn crazy calories, regardless of the exorcise.. but mainly those three..some times pound the shit of my boxing bag!! i was doin it 4 times a week.but to me it doesnt seem enough!! probably the fact taht it is fun!!... are there any other good cardiovascular exorsizes that i should and could be doing?
 
There is definitely such a thing as too much cardio, assuming your goals are to build muscle. Excessive cardio, especially on an empty stomach, will greatly hinder muscle growth.
 
i know i do to much cardio but yeah i cant do any thing about it but i only work out 3 times a week and each bodypart once a week ! but i cant help with my cardio! I am on the crew team ! 10 miles a day baby in 60 min.

depends, are you focusing on gaining or shedding bodyfat or just maintaining? im trying to drop my bodyfat right now so i do about 3-4X/wk @20min in the morning on empty tummy or post-workout. when im trying to gain i do cardio on my days off about an hr after a meal.
 
i'd have to agree with them on your goals. if you're trying to gain muscle i'd limit cardio to no more than 60 minutes a week at a THR of no more than 70% you MHR. however if you don't mind just being skinny with 0% BF than go until your heart pops. just remember to switch it up so you don't over train one body part. you mentioned skipping and running. if you can try swmming , bicycling, elpical runinng machine, or a rowing machine. you can knock out back and cardio with one of those. heck anything that will raise your heart rate will work. just remember though 20 mins at your TRH is the key. so sex is out of the question for most....
