How many push ups can you Eliters do?

Pride Fighting Fan said:
I saw on another board a guy talking about some cut retired military guy doing doing like 100's in a row. Maybe he said 300 or 400!
i'm strong but i don't have the endurance to do 100.

In high school I started doing one set of as many as I could get every morning. I built up from 20'ish to over 75.

how did you do them? Flat hands fist balled up, or feet leveled on a high surface like a chair or bed?

Flat hands, on the tips of my toes flat on the floor. Hands slightly wider than shoulder width. Standard pushup.

try putting your feet up on a chair and do them. Better results buddy!

I did 105 without resting on my 33rd birthday.

back when I was in tech school for the Air Force, I could crank out 144 in two minutes.

Now? I know I can hit 50+ for sure, I would guess 75 max right now.

Military standards 70 or so in a row, avg. joe standard a shit load

250 in a row

500 in a day

I'd have to see that to believe it.

A few. Between 70 and 100 in one shot depending on my energy.

oh, i would love to see some of you 80+ people take a real military pt test, so you can see how many of those 'pushups' actually count.

i thought i could do a shitload, too...but when i went to bragg my pushup max dropped by like 25.

65 in 2 mins with no brake or stop.all the way down chin to the groand and all the way up elbows locked.with no sag in the middle or arch in the back.brakeing the plane and staying peralel to the ground evry time.if you cant do them right dont do them at all.

75+ in two minutes without stopping

That's how the Army grades them, as many with good form as you can do in 2 min without lifting your hands or touching your knees to the ground to rest.

My last PT test I stopped at 73. I might have been able to make 80 but that was enough for a 100% score and you have to do situps and run right afterwards.

3,416 on a good day.

I can only do about 80 pushups, but I bench well over 400lbs. At 6' 230lbs., I just don't have the stamina of some of you guys. Don't think I'll ever hit 250...that impressive.

highest i've ever done was about 65 strict form nonstop kissing the ground. But that was a long time ago.
I bench a lot more now but i'm also much heavier, so I dunno. Maybe in the 50's.
