A slavery-based economy doesn't allow for the distribution of wealth. Meaning only a select few garner wealth, while the general population gets poorer and poorer.

But that is irrelevant because it was never the intention of a slave based system - distributing welath''. Slaves are supposed to be poor.

Slavery is economically a loser because there is no incentive to streamline or innovate....just throw more labor at the problem.

The tobacco and cotton trade made lots of money, just klike Communism made lots of money for the USSR. But slavery is a bad economic system.

If there had been no slave labor, a lot of the efficiencies now used in agriculture (machines!) would have come about a lot sooner.

Slavery made money, it was just a grossly inefficient means to do it.
