Usually the time for me. I got me one of those electric scales with the removable container and I love it.

The only time I eyeball anything anymore is when I have a pre-weighed package from the store such as 1lb of lean ground beef and then I just cut it in half.

almost every meal....out of habit and discipline.

Same here, except oats in the morning, I always weigh those.

Once you have a comp diet, it is the same old same old after awhile, you don't have to weigh all the time.
 
Since i started cooking and packing my chicken in bulk yes about 2 years ago , oats yes and i cook and mash a bag of potatoes at a time so i weight them out once a week when i pack my lunches for the week .

I know my servings so I don't measure anything anymore. I eat only a few diff. Things so I precook for 4 days or so then I heat as I go
 
I'll tell ya, my stomach is my scale. I weigh it internally and then I add some more! Goddamn I'm hardcore. When do I get a crown?
 
Ill weigh my wifes food, but only if she is doing a competition. I cook so much, I can eyeball and tell how much a chicken breast weighs..
 
Only when weighing something new that I haven't measured out before. I have found that 3 solid months of using that scale gets you pretty good at spotting correct portion size when away from home.
 
I have a small flat digital scale, I weigh all my shit...If im grilling a bunch of chicken breasts Ill have my containers lined up
 
Damn.. I have a food scale I just don't use it. Guess I should start.

So do you all weight the meats before or after cooking? Should things be weighed raw or cooked??
 
I did for like 3 days and stopped that shit. Too much work for me. I like to enjoy eating. I think my wife uses the scale to weigh newborn pups now.
 
I just read what is on the package for things like chicken.

I do measure my oatmeal etc. all the time. When it becomes a habit it becomes easy.
 
I rarely weigh my food.
Usually the packages have the weights printed on them and it is easy to make an intelligent guess.
 
I used to weigh my food, jus doing it after a while gives you an idea of what 28g looks like and 3 oz etc etc
 
I measure it, read the product label, or SWAG-scientific wild ass guess. I also use a program by Mobiteq called "Total Fitness". Has over 5000 food items, plus the ability to add your own values for custom meals or food products. Tracks a lot of other stuff too. I am sure it is accurate to a degree, but most importantly it allows you to see how you are trending in quite a few areas-calories, fat, carbs, weight, protein, etc...
