how long to take creatine?

Ive heard alot of different opinions , some say to do it one month then stop then start the next month and so on .. others say to take it straight for a long time.. what do you guys think?

There is a lot of misinformation out there when it comes to creatine supplementation. There is no need to load or cycle creatine. Supplement with 5-10g per day. When you take the creatine doesn't matter but ideally you would supplement with creatine pre and post workout, as your body is most inclined to absorb nutrients at this time. Supplementing with creatine post workout will also help replenish depleted creatine phosphate stores from your workout.

Supplemental creatine is nothing more then the amino acids glycine, arginine, and methionine synthesized together. It is not a hormone and does not require a PCT (post cycle therapy).

you can run it as long as you wish. a lot of doctors get confused when they see your blood work and think your kidney's are strained because of your creatine use. they are misinformed of course as creatine does not harm the kidney's, however they will cause your blood work to be skewed.. so if you do run blood work stop the creatine 1-2 weeks ahead of time.

also make sure you are buying your creatine from a legit place. n2bm has a product called ancient strength which is my personal favorite. it is pure creatine for a great price. creatine should never be expensive so don't fall for supplemental marketing where you see creatine being sold for some outrageous price

I use it in 3-5 grams, daily. I do run it for 2-3 months (usually OFF cycle) and then quit taking it for awhile. Nothing set in stone and I'm sure you could use it as log as you want.

As has been said there really is no need to cycle it. I usually stop when I start to get cramping. As odd as it seems after a few months of creatine use I start to get cramping, thats usually when I take a few weeks off.
\Actually I have been using plain old mono and have been trying to sift through the bs to find a creatine where this does not occur so I dont have to take that time off. May have to look into some suggestions here as far as what kinds to try.
