I have no idea why one would want to do this unless they were obese??? From my experience low carb diets are complete shit...But thats MY opinion....I think to completely deplete glycogen it takes like 6 weeks or so...But I could be WAY off...I think it takes 6 weeks for you to start feeling normal again and not so lathargic...Bump for a real answer:D

read up on the ketogenic / ckd / body opus diet on the internet. you will find your answer there. I bet it can be done within 72 hours. it has to be that soon otherwise ketosis would not be possible

About 4 days (give or take) which is why it's so ridiculous that people think they're burning fat if they do cardio before eating breakfast.

At any rate, muscleup is right. Going into ketosis is a really bad idea. The ketogenic diet is probably the stupidest thing ever conceived.

oh

well yeah, I did ketosis, I don't like it that much.. hurts lifts, what type of diet do you think is good for cutting nelson?

I was thinking moderate carb intake, only take high GI simple carbs after workout?

Jeezus, I cant believe how people wont just answer the question, but insted have to provide their "comments" on keto diets. Jeezus.

I believe when you say "100% deficient in carbs" you mean at what pt do you switch into ketosis? I would say it does vary depending upon what you have been eating, what you bave been doing, and how many times you have gone into ketosis before.

Depleting your muiscles of glycogen and getting rid of just about all blood glucose can be done in like a day, if you work out really hard and have not gone ass-wild on low GI carbs the day before.

However after this, it does take your body some time to switch into a ketogenic state. This time can vary depeidng upon how many times you have done it. The first time you do this, it can take like 5 days - which sucks! You are ready toi kill someone for like a Pepsi or an apple.

But after you get used to it, after your BODY knows how to switch over quickly, it happens faster. Many guys on a CKD can switch from carb-up to ketosis in about 36 hours with NO gear or insulin.

So, it depends. There is no one answer. Expending ebergy will make you get rid of the carbs (glucose and glycogen) faster. Ingesting some fat (like good fats especially) will actually allow you to get into ketosis faster.
