How long can you go without sleep?

My record now is 88 hours. Not a wink.

I have been told this can cause some serious problems, although I don't know exactly what.

I felt like absolute shite after about 60 hours, with a school camp and a christening thrown into that 60 hours.

are you sure? i thought acute schizophrenia was the main side effect of sleep deprivation.

Back during the Loadmaster days, we had to go longer than the flight crew due to load, monitor and then unload.
I think a bit over 48 was the longest I ever had to not only stay awake, but also stay sharp..
They had some good meds for us that helped but damn it caused a massive crash when you stopped taking it..

Since then, I've gone a bit over 24 hours until I said
"To hell with this" and passed out asleep no matter where..

i sleep only about 4-5 hours every night, and no daytime naps.

about 35-40... and i was suprised i pulled through.. i usually can't go 8 hours without a nap.
