How is losing water from Arimidex diff than diuretics?

Hey guys this might be a dumb question but I know that arimidex keeps water retention down but how? I know what it does for estrogen but how do it do this about water? Does it do it in the same way or different than a diuretic? Please explain THanks a lot in advance. This doesn't really affect me but I like to have the best understanding of all aspects of AS that I can.

How bout the guys using it while cutting w/o any AS? How does it help them? Also, doe arimidex break down the estrogen or just block it?
Thanks

anastrozole/letrozole/exemestane prevent the creation of estrogen by working on the enzyme that converst androgens to estrogen. It helps guys who are cutting because when estrogen levels are low your less likely to store estrogenic type fat and since estrogen is one of the feedback mechanisms of test production they usualy raise natural test levels approx 50%.

Zyg is awesome, he is always quick to respond and gets notfication and checks back so if you need clarification of what he said he goes more into it. It is great that people like him, with so much knowledge, feel the need to help others and spread it. he is truely an essential asset to the board!

Are there any sides w/ arimidex? It seem like I read somewhere about some possible hairloss? Any truth to this?
Thanks

I thought I've seen some posts saying Arimidex and anti-estrogens in general cause hair loss and HDL (good cholesterol) suppression.
I would also like to know what other sides there are from taking it.

Diuretics tend to deplete electrolytes, Lasix for example depletes potassuim. Liquidex, althought probably not as effective at reducing subcutaneous water as diuretics, is much safer to use.

I'm curious if someone was using anastrozle during a cutting cycle with no test if there would be a rebound effect after stopping. Meaning is the estrogen reduction a temporary fix that only works as long as you're taking it, or will the effects last as it lowers any extra estrogen that is floating around that shouldn't be there.

good question bud, bump for you! I am interested as well. well i guess thats obvious cause I started this thread. This is what I like about the boards though, you ask one question and get that answered and learn so much more than you even asked for!
