i guess people should have supported bush's energy plan 3 years ago...i guess we should have started drilling up in ANWR....i guess we should have stopped listening to environmentalists and started building more refineries.
Expect it to pop up to $3/gallon and then stabilize at that.
OPEC basically wants to set the new *level* of gas prices for the next couple years. Which is $3. Best way to do that is to *gradually* elevate prices over a period of 2 years.
Which means of course, your airline prices are also going to go up.
Imported product prices aren't going to rise that much. The % of the cost of that item that's based upon the price of oil required to ship it is probably less than 1%.

I paid $1.87 a gallon my last fill up 3 days ago and prices seem to have stayed the same. I think it's gonna hit close $3 a gallon for the nation average before they go back down but they will go back down somewhat. As far Europeans paying more for gas, well Americans drive more and our cars are bigger sucking up more gas so I think it balances out.
gas prices are so high in europe, because they have stupid politicians who like to tax the hell out of it to help pay for all of their stupid spending. not to mention the lack of refineries due to outlandish and utterly retarded environmental regulation.
and they wonder why their economies aren't as strong...
