How does protein powder effect my diet?

I weight 115 and I've been tryign to work out to gain more mass so I usually drink protein every day 4 hours before I go to sleep. I've been taking it for about a week and I've noticed I have to take a crap way more often than before, my muscles heal faster after a workout, I get really dehydrated (and I drink about a gallon of water a day) but since I'm taking a crap so much more often, aren't I losing more weight than gaining?
 
I don't have a scale nearby, by at the gym there's a scale. If you mean a scale to weigh protein, I just use the scoop that came with it.
 
no a scale to weigh your body. you said you think you may be losing weight while on protein, if so weigh yourself. dont substiture protein as a ameal, eat it with a meal.you should be gaining weight. also eat a lot of fiber if your crapping a lot. its most likely your diet too.
 
Ah the effects of protein are gone, i'm normal again hehe. Geez i thought i'd crap like crazy for a week, not just 1 day.
 
try drinking it right before you go to bed....personally if i drank it 4hrs before bed, id still be going to bed hungry. Think about it, if you sleep 6-8 hrs that's 10-12 hrs with no caloric intake. Thats too long if your trying to pack on some pounds.
 
lol. I don't think you grasp the basic understanding of how protein works. The amount you eat does not "Stick" to your body, thus making you gain weight. It works through a complex process called protein synthesis.

Are you talking about my last post or the post above mine? Originally I took protein daily at the same time every day, except workout days which I take it right after workout and now I'm taking it right before I sleep.
