How does Chuck Liddell win?

I mean he is smaller than most opponents. He does not have the grounds skills that others have. The only thing he seems to have is his wicked overhand right he uses.. It just seems that other fighters would be prepared for that and take him right off> discuss..

He has heavy hands...and knows where to throw them.

Also...His defense is very good. Just watch when other fighters try to take him down. Doesn't happen too often.

Also, I think is ground game is better than your giving him credit for, but he just never needs to use it as his stand up is good enough.

tons of knock out power. fighters that have lost to him say he has a weird timing to his punches and it catches them off guard. chuck has great ground skills as he was a division 1 wrestler in college. he has a good sprawl and its very hard to take him down. just because you never get to see his ground game doesn't mean it sucks. he just rather knock his opponents out.

Your right, he is very hard to take down he has a great spread defense

Are you kidding me?! He's one of the biggest 205's there is. He has a great chin, the best takedown defense, and hard punches. Perfect style to beat most wrestlers. For his ground game I'm sure he has it. Just don't see it when he's good enough from going to the ground.

Thanks Aztec , I was not aware he was 205lbs. I know he has wicked kicks and awesome power , I wonder how he would fair with Anderson Silva?

That be a great fight. Anderson has the better standup but Chuck has a weird striking style that just works for him in MMA.

he is just very hard to beat.
pretty much everyone has already said most of this, but he has a steel jaw, great sprawl-really good at stopping guys from taking him down, throws punches/can deliver knockout power from very odd angles-one of the few people that can knock you out when backing up, awesome kicks, remenber when he knocked out babalu!!! omg that was awsome. that would have been like getting hit with a baseball bat in the head.

the only person i have ever seen him fight that his style just didnt "work" against, was keith jardine, funnily enough. keith just took him out of his game by working the leg kicks, making chuck come after him and countering the counter fighter. big upset, but nicely worked by keith.

knockout power, aggression, good standup

He sends a couple hookers and bags of coke to his opponents room the night before the fight.

chuck walks around at 230+, same with Forrest...he's pushing 250 I understand. Basically these are HW's that realize that if they brutally cut weight, they can dominate the more natural 205'ers. But look at Randy, he's gotten "Better" now that he's gone up to 225-230. Dude still has his ridiculous cardio but now he's retaining his natural strength. I thought Gonzaga was going to bull him.......didn't happen, Randy was equal to him in strength.

I'm not sure...

I try to do my best to keep up with the MMA scene, but I very well could've missed something.

I know Randy was pissed off at the UFC and quit fighting, and was just training guys at his camp in Vegas. Maybe they resolved their differences since the last time i heard anything

dude, Randy's not in the UFC anymore....he's in.....well....whatever that federation is called that has Fedor, Silva, Arlovsky and now Randy. No, Randy is long done with the UFC.

I know he's not in the UFC, He was trying to go to the IFL? i think that's what it was called.

Anyways, The UFC was suing Randy for breach of contract since he refused to fight the last 2 fights of his contract. Last I remember, there was an injuction preventing him from fighting until the lawsuit was resolved.

That could very well have been taken care of by now though....like I said, I do my best to keep up, but I know i've missed some things.

Also...as a side note..

I think Randy is a bit of a flake. I saw an interview with him a while back saying that he wasn't going to fight anymore because the UFC was the only place he wanted to fight, and since he wasn't fighting for them he just wasnt' going to fight anymore.

I think he's a doosh now too.

Not the IFL. Affliction is were he's considering. He's been wanting to fight Fedor for sometime now. Big mistake. He will lose.

Right. Forrest has to be the biggest LH there is. Look at his fights and the size sticks out even more next to ever he fights. He should be a HW.

incredible power, he probably has big hands.....one of my buddies back in the day killed a man with one punch to the head at a fair.....when the paramedics showed up the guys heart stopped and he had no pulse and wasnt breathing.....they got his heart beating on the way to the hospital and the guy was in a coma for a day....true story...my buddy didnt know how to fight but his fists were deadly

rampage beat chucks ass twice, so apparently he doesnt know how to win against rampage.

Chuck Lidel has beaten fighters who have beaten Rampage.

Rampage isn't that great. I was very disappointed with his last fight.

+1
He has a great ground game. Didn't the fight with Tido go to the ground, and tido was one of the best on the ground.

He's iron jawed and throws with power from both hands and at odd angles. His takedown defense is excellent as is his ability to stand when taken down. He has under rated stamina.

yeah i did but when i first got here. didnt even know what to do with it lol. dont worry about it, just glad to call you an e-friend (no homo)
