how do you tell your body type??

Very vague question...

Ecto = small frame, lanky thin, quick metabolism & difficult to pack on weight
Meso = manipulates weight easily, broad shoulders, thin waist, muscular naturally
Endo = naturally fat, big stomach area, slow metabolism, large bone structure (wide)

Eating lots and training hard is the solution to everything. Endos are an exception, they have to eat a bit less than the other two and really monitor the type of calories they're intaking...although this William Sheldon somatype theory is completely outdated and sounds outlandish...but those are your basics.

Isn't there also a test using the size of your wrist? Like if you can put your thumb and pointer around your wrist then you are a something...?

Im not sure about that because there are some small wristed people that are huge.

I've heard of that one too - it supposedly determines whether your big boned, small boned, medium boned or something like that. Not too accurate though

If before you lifted you were scrawny, you're probably an ecto.
If before you lifted you were an average, in-shape person (not necessarily muscular) then you're probably a meso.
If before you lifted you were a bit pudgy (not including how you were during your pubescent years) then you may be an endo.

I don't know, that's how I see it.

works for me

<----meso (yay)

I remember reading somewhere that in order you know what type you are you need to look at your family tree, your mom and dad, grandparents and so on. review the family trends. By doing this I ended up in the endo-meso area and I can't agrue with that.

Ask anyone, they'll have 'meso' in their classification :). Well obviously there will be more on this board because that is the bodytype/temperament type (according to Sheldon) that would most likely workout. But if you go around in public to people who actually know this stuff they'll always incorporated meso into their personal assessment lol.
I'm an endo, its not so bad unless you really care what you really care what you look like. Those fat huge stereotypical bouncers at bars are endos. Endos can get really huge & they have awsome strength.
