How do you guys inject?

I have been injecting myself for close to two years and just just found the siteinjection site. It says Aspirate the syringe - pull back slightly on the plunger before you start. Do you guys ever do this? I always poke myself and squeeze everything in without pulling back first. How about you guys?

Bro you're lucky you haven't injected into a vein yet :)

If blood comes into the syringe while asperating it means you're in a vein. I always thought everyone asperated, better safe then sorry.

come on now, this is like INJECTIONS 101

if u havent been doin it, u really shouldnt be injecting anyways,.........heres a good one......do u make sure there is no air in the syringe at least?????

That was kinda harsh........

You would be suprised how many medical professionals do not aspirate at all. It is worth doing for some peace of mind but I think even aspirating does not make you safe. It is impossible to hold the needle in exactly the same point whilst you inject.......and you only have to move the tip a tiny distance to hit a vein. Also, I sometimes think that people overstate the consequences of hitting a vein. I have done so several times (after aspirating!!).......the worst that happened was a dizzy spell, bad pins and needles and coughing. Ok not great, but you don't die.

Air in the syringe isn't necessarily a no no either. A small air bubble can be used to push almost every last drop out of the barrel. This is common practice for alot of people and they don't get infections even when some of the air goes in the injection site. People also seem to think that air carries alot more bacteria than it actually does.........

glute shots do not require aspirating. All others do.

The post about leaving a tiny bubble in the pin to aid in getting all your gear out is just crazy....An air bubble in a vein can kill you.
