How do you combat laziness?

Lately it seems I've only had the motivation to train. I'm living in a total mess, because I'm too lazy to clean. Lately I've been doing the minimum to get by at work, etc.

Training I actually enjoy, so the laziness hasn't taken that over.

Anyone go through times in their life where they just don't seem to have the motivation to get through them? And if so, what did you do?

Most of the time i feel like my whole life revolves around my training schedule. and things dont get done. i dont really let it bother me until it seems like things are caving in on me then i take care of whatever i need to do. but training never falls by the way side.

I find if i have other things going on in my life, i enjoy my training more...........i enjoy keeping busy, going out, playing other sport etc.

I approach life the same way I do training. If I find myself slacking in something, say cleaning the house, I give myself a goal to accomplish, and I stay at it until I complete it. You don't have to get caught up in one day, take it in steps. Just like your training.

i think about people who have been through 10x what i have, then stop feeling sorry for myself and straighten out

Having a goal in mind is a good way to combat laziness. It will give you more motivation when you are working toward something, i.e. 10% bodyfat or 400 lb bench press

wait till I get in shit with my wife, then do whatever it is I'm getting in trouble for not doing

I've been having this trouble too. Seems like I get nothing done all week long b/c I spend most of the night at the gym. Then I get home, eat, relax for an hour and then try to get to bed at a decent time. I'm a night person, so I have a hard time getting myself to bed.

However, I find if I don't go to the gym that I get depressed and do nothing anyway. The gym keeps me motivated. I force myself to go even when I have no desire to. I always feel better afterwards.
