How do you bulk on a keto?

Obviously... but I'm wondering if you keep the same ratio's, do you carb up more, etc...

If you haven't done it, don't reply..

Ummm... well the whole idea behind going into Ketosis is to hopefully burn fat as fuel, to cut up.. so you can't 'Bulk up' on a Keto diet...

It's used to maintain the lean mass you have, while cutting up... but I suppose you could injest more fats and protiens to maximize this.

I wouldn't recommend trying to 'bulk up' on little to no carbs though... and if you up the carbs, then you'll fall out of Ketosis, and you won't be on a keto diet anymore... ;)

Well supposedly a few people do it this way and it works well for them..

I don't know if it works or not, I'll have to wait until I try it..

Strong, alot of people do it successfully. Two of the biggest low carb freaks out there are Dave Palumbo and Bill Kazmire. In any event I find it works well for me.

bilat, right, just like cutting but with higher cals. I do low carbs most of the week and carb up for 24-36 hours starting on Friday. Currently doing about 5000 cals on my low carb days. 500 grams of protien, 20 grams of carbs and the rest of my cals from fat.

A better way to say this maybe bulking on a low carb diet. I do not think you will get into ketosis eating a large number of cals like you would while bulking. At 5000, I bet BBF is not in ketosis

This is pretty interesting actually... I'd like to know more about this...

Do you find you have to go to the can more frequently with that much protien or?

I can see bulking on a low carb diet as long as carbs are cycled at some point during the week. Actually, there are many people that bulk on low carb, but at the point of bulking it would not be considered a keto diet, not much body fat being burned consuming that many calories. Some people, including myself, believe that bulking on a lower carb diet is better, you end up laying down less fat.

So how many calories do you aim for on a keto/low carb bulk?

If you cut around 10xbw, bulk around 15x? Or should it be higher, like 20xbw?

2g protein/bw or more? Under 20g carbs? The rest fat?

How often do you carb up? How long?

Do you take in carbs postworkout?

Will a high volume routine work on a keto bulk?
