We were removing carpet and I found this rusted shut sergent and greenleaf floor safe. Locksmith is xharging me $325. Fuck that.

Hubs tried good old sledgehammer and crowbar but no result. The dial fell off so now we are really fucked.

A locksmith could contact the manufacturer to acquire the combination, if the serial number is visible. Safe manufacturers keep combinations on file. Perhaps trying to get the safe out of the floor would be a better option than trying to crack it.

$325 seems like a HUGE rip off for busting into a safe.

Why don't you contact the manufacturer and ask them the best course of action? Sargent and Greenleaf- Offers safe locks, electronic locks and biometric locks

dial came off when we tried turning it. Also our dumbass contractor already sledgehammered the fuck out of it so opening it the normal way is not longer an option

Drill a hole right through the center of the dial. Use a high torque drill and some lithium grease, or cut the whole lock off with a torch. Mapp gas an oxygen should get hot enough.

That's a floor safe.

You're not getting in through the top. At least not easily or without fucking up whatever (if anything) that is inside.

The sides and bottom of a floor safe are weak as shit. You need to cut it out of the floor and then break in from the bottom

You're welcome.

Omg where the fuck are you? Looks like a mess

my handyman wants to jack hammer it.... good lord
Your handyman is lacking a certain degree of common sense. The focus needs to be on getting it out of the floor.

Ought to ask your handyman if he knows anybody who has one of those lighted cameras on cables plumbers use, drill a hole through the front of the thing away from the mechanism and run the camera through, take a peek. Probably empty.

Lol @ a handyman possessing any sort of sense, much less common sense. If he was born with any sort of sense he wouldn't have a job tiling Nan's floor.

If I had any sort of sense I wouldn't be drawing japdicks and nuclear bombs in Solidworks all day.

Umm..wtf do you have water in the foundation of your house?

lol, what a pos.

Not in the foundation, there was an ac pipeline over the safe, I'm guessing at some point it burst when the old owners had the house and it leaked into the safe. The soil/concrete around it had no water, only the safe had water.
