Like the topic says....I'm absolutely horrible at dancing and wanna know how you guys that are decent at dancing learned how to dance?

K for help =)

lol even if i'm drunk and go to a club i still can't dance worth a crap...or is it just that you just dont care how bad you look after you're drunk? :D

look around man, most people cant dance, and realistically there is no set way to dance, some people look like dorks no matter how they dance, its all about not giving a fuck and moving with the beat of the music, if you can do that your set

lol. so true. Most people at clubs have no clue what the hell they are doing. Its even funnier looking at them when you are sober. Some people move good with the beat while others look like total fools. As for me I learned how to dance from a friend of mines who was a pro.

You just have to build up your repertoire of steps, bro. Try a hip hop class at your gym. If you live in a large urban area, chances are your gym offers one. Basically, it's an hour class, and you learn dances to different songs. Once you build up a lot of dances, you can apply them to songs you hear in clubs. You will find that the dance that you do to a song in Hip Hop, will work with other songs. It's also a pretty good cardio workout.

agree 100% - you will learn how to move in a hip-hop class...plus probably be surrounded bu hot girls and few other guys :)

All I do is this one stretch we do for ROTC, simultaneous ankle, knee, and hip rotation, with your feet together, if you can imagine what that would look like. I never said I was a GOOD dancer... I do it to be funny.

That'd be awesome and all, but i live in a po dunk town that probably doesn't even know what hip hop is. I'll probably just get trashed and then not care how stupid i look :D

You never learn how to dance. You just move with the rythm and beats. Choose the music that you like and that's it. Feel it.

Oh man do I have to get my shit together in that department. This girl I'm hanging with can DANCE.. and she is so hot. I may take lessons if I have too.. LOL... I'm 32 now... I have no shame!

You have several options:

#1- Get a video and make an ass out of yourself...by yourself at home.

#2- Find a friend that can dance, get him or her to teach you, and make an ass out of yourself infront of said friend at home.

#3- Get drunk as hell, go out to your local club and watch people, then try to copy the ones that look like they no what they're doing and make an ass out of yourself in public.

Or #4- Get the Paula Abdul "Learn to dance w/o making an ass out of yourself" DVD.

Dances out of the thread!
"My shit is tight bro! These moves are mine! I made them up and can't nobody do what i do!"

I took a hip hop class for two years and it helped me tremendously. When you take the class, you just have to relax and have fun. If you are having fun, you will do a lot better. Of course, you may be the only guy in a class full of teenage girls, like I was. And I was 30 when to took the class! ;)

Damn straight it's a good idea. Not only will you learn how to dance, but you'll also work your way into a lot of trim in the process. :chomp:

Tap that sweet ass, and give her a good one from Marshall.

from my ex. My ex used to be a back dancer for a bunch acts back in the day. She actually still dances at a lot of the clubs. When I first started I hated dancing and I was uncofortable, but after watching and picking up a few thing, it got easy. Of course I'm sure that the E I was taking for a couple of years had something to with. After a while I thought that I could only dance while on E, but I haven't rolled in two years, and I dance better now than ever. I actually got some gigs dacing at different clubs/partys (yeah stop laughing, I'm 5;6", 195 and 6%BF. My current woman couldn't dance and we didin't go to many club because of it. But, now she had gotten it down and we are going to a club where my ex dances. It's gonna be a fun weekend :worried:

dancing is all about how comfortable you are, not what size you are or how much rythm you have. I still can't dance to hip-hop, because I don't like the music, and I'm uncomfortable.

I think this is a great business opportunity. We can incorporate, provide dance lessons for geeks or folks that are otherwise dance disadvantaged. It is going to be a big hit folks....my wife is a professional dancer and looks hot! Start gathering potential investors!!! LOL :)
