How Did You Educate Yourself...

...in the use of steroids? Or at least a great deal from?

It's easy to tell by the major differences in opinions and views that we learned from many different sources. Many are from first hand, Nelson has read and observed a lot of studies and talke to numerous pros, for example. Its obvious that a lot of people on here have read or done a ton of studies.

If you learned from a book, post what one it was. If from a class, what kind of class? Learn from personal experiences? Please post.

I started with EF, and bought the Muscular Growth Explosion and Metabolic Furnace deal a while back. After that, I learned from working out with and eventually training a few people on steroids. Buying that package and one person in particular on EF (through PMs) both saved me big time. I was going to do and Insulin, Dbol, and EQ cycle. Yeah.

I ask this because I want to know some great sources to learn from, and this could also help many noobs and vets learn more about streoids, training, diet, ect, WITHOUT spoonfeeding them.

Thanks in advance everyone.

O god. I have read about 20 books, spent 200000000000000 hours researching on line, learned from my own body, talk to 50000 or more members of this site, and everything in between.

I learn every which way I can and I pass it long.

elitefitness and countless hours of online research hell i learned for nearly two years before taking the plunge. and like needto said learned alot form my body

lmao, I've digested more material than 90% of the site combined... From Nelson's books to Anabolics 2005,6, to a buncha other ebooks and my undergrad degree.

 to EF.

okay I lied, probably only more that .2% of the site. 90 sounded a lot better, though.

I learn't from personal use and from discussion forms/friends. There are some set do's and dont's and alot of people with both good and bad advise. The best thing you can do is reasearch as much as possible then make up your own mind. You must remember that each person is different and should you decide to go one route its your choice and the concequences rest on your shoulders, so do it right. Your body will then let you know if what you are doing works or not, and you can go from there.

Dan Duchaine in the beginning as that was about the only reference material available. He was the gospel and everyone followed his instructions to the letter.

With the advent of the internet then information became far more available and easy i.e. medical studies were in the public domain.

Then the internet became available to just about anyone i.e. broadband was cheap enough and widely available and the hosting & building of sites became financially viable for just about everyone which meant more and more sites dedicated to specific topics sprung up

Elite was one of the first of these dedicated to AAS and old established theories that Dan Duchaine promoted were debated with new ideas coming out whist also people sharing their own experiences which again conflicted what was thought as ''best practice''

Now there are many boards and reference sites for this and IMHO no excuse for anyone taking meds without a great degree of knowledge of what they are about to embark on.

That is not to say it will be right or the results being exactly what you expect as each user is different and there are also theories that were ''hot'' 24 months ago that have been proved to be way off and adverse to health e.g. morning after pill as the great PCT med it never was but 24 months ago was the big thing in AAS use.

So in summary i would say the internet is the main source of information now but previously it was books / medical journals

Wrongun!

I worked as a part-time bouncer, and waited tables. I now have a PhD. in BS.

OH... Gear? Asking Vets that were big and bad. Reading. Forums like this one. Some trial and error ( I don't suggest that one.)
Places like this EF site are ideal, just make sure your advice comes from a seasoned veteran that has several years of experience.

Some of the finest "educators" you could hope to find are right here at EF!!!

reading research online for about 7+ years...been a member of about every board...learned how to take in all the info...even bad info....research more and come up with the correct answers...people giving you bad information makes you dig even deeper to find the real answers..

12 years and alot of message boards all way back to old bolex and the ug

The search function has been a close friend for me too. LOL

Mine as well- spent countless hours-literally years- looking things up, as well as speaking with people before I did my first cycle. Basically, though, I read posts from guys with, what I view to be, the best credibility: Nelson, Omega, etc.

Unfortunately, though, I think a lot of newbs have their minds made up already and are just looking for any kind of reassurance- despite the experienced guys telling them otherwise. Instead of running a first time low test dose, they wanna hear someone tell them it's ok to run some huge cycle, or that it's ok for them to begin aas despite not having reached their natural potential.

The hardest way to learn is to lose a friend who didn't see that knowledge is power not 23 inch biceps, he took a run at Omnadren at severely high doses for six months non-stop back in the day and just recently passed away from cancer of the liver from what I have heard this is not a very common cancer more so related to individuals who expose themselves to substances that are liver toxic. Endless books, online research, and of course playing the guinea pig, My recent favorite source of info has been uprising on this site with veteran members and novices alike filling these boards with very helpful and useful information which is always a pleasure to see, I am sure George himself would strongly agree.

I learned most of what I knew prior to coming here from working out with a Pro BB. After being here and doing more research I have found that he was a little crazy! LOL

I have learned most from EF for sure!

Forums, articles, and clinical trials ... 90% of what gets said in the gym is bullshit.

Everyone lies about what their on, how much their on, how long theyve been on etc.
Not to mention if your a natty youll have a platued juicepig around every corner telling you everything you want to hear and oversimplifying the use of AAS.

When it comes to your hormones and body in general youve gota be your own general, and not listen to the moon faced water balloon that drives a 91' toyota tercel.

Get off your ass, read, and if you feel its worth the risk plan every step you take.

Exactly. Thats one reason I made the thread. I figured if there were several books listed that people on here had learned a good deal from, we could post this thread up and they would see several good sources they could look into. I know a lot of people say "Look at the threads," but a lot of what is said on here is through first hand use (which may vary from person to person) or is above their heads. It took me a good few months to start to understand and find material to get a good basis of knowledge, so now most of the info here makes sense to me.

Plus, everyone here is still trying to learn more, so it could help noobs and vets alike to see new resources.

bill llywellen's book--both of Nelson's books and George's, plus the free pub med subscription--plus the search function on EF + trial and many many errors

I'm still researching anabolic steroids, I don't think I'll ever stop. I haven't used anything yet as I'm trying to max out my natural potential and then I'm going to try to get on a HRT program probably next year (obviously depending on my test levels) But this site has helped me learn about steroids so much and has actually helped in my decision to max out my natural potential first. I was always curious about steroids and coming here, buying some books from here and talking to everyone was very helpful. The research continues but this site is one of the best information sites you can find.

Started learning by talking to some bro's I knew that had a history of cycling, people I trusted to give me the straight shit. Also to the guys that tried to BS me (I'm a mortgage salesman, you can't BS me!) and learned who not to trust. I would play dunmb & ask questions I knew the answers to and if the person gave the right answer, they earned a little trust...

I used (and still do) use the internet to find out what compounds do what....

I learned more here on EF than anywhere....nelson, needto, swole, alcatraz, guardian (RIP), etc. Joining EF was one of the best decisions I've ever made....

Research,Research,Research, on the net, reading books and askin a few good bros. after i became Plat on this site it opened up a whole other level of research, and i still dont feel im ready to start yet (but will be soon  )

all of the 1000 boards and some old time vets that I never see on here and some of the older boards. I have been out of the game for about 2 years now so I'm trying to get back in the saddle again..lol
