How are you supposed to defrost a microfridge?

Use a hammer and an ice pick to break all that out.

Actually, that was my original idea. But apparently, with the way the microfridges with the in-house freezer work with the cooling coils running horizontally throughout the boundary of the freezer compartment, it isn't recommended because chipping the ice could cause damage to the coils.

I wonder if I could make some sort of controlled exothermic chemical reaction in the compartment that would melt the ice really quick. I just don't know how I would contain the reactants, since using liquid is almost unavoidable.

Pour some "...liquid hot MAG-ma" on it.

Samoth if you have to ask this question then youve lost the title of evil Genius
Cause your not quite evil enough. Your semi-evil, your quasi-evil, your the margarine of evil, your the diet coke of evil, just one calorie, not "evil" enough

My second thought involves a heat generating device called a ""L-A-S-E-R"" developed by the Scientist engineer Alan Parsons. We call it the Alan Parsons Project.

How are you supposed to defrost that little freezer space in a microfridge? The dorms here are gay and don't give us cool auto-defrosting 5.5 cubic foot fridge/freezer combos ...........

AWWWWW...... they don't GIVE you a frost free fridge..... boo hoo

How much food do you have? I have a large fridge with practically nothing in it. My kitchen is big but I hardly ever use it for anything, save when a guest cooks. You can keep your food in my fridge while you defrost your freezer.

A cooler? Ummm... no. And the only way I could get ice would be to buy an icetray and make ice in my freezer ;)

Now youre just reaching for excuses evil one, a bag of ice costs 99cents.
In order for you to speed up the defrosting process you would need some sort of heat source, be it device or hot water, heat transfer of some sort, list sources that you have. I dont know if anyone said this but since you live in a dorm why dont you empty it, lug the lil guy to the shower and turn on the hot water and blast it at the freezer, should only take a few minutes. Then coat the inside of the freezer with ethylene glycol, save excess for vinagraette.
Besides how much room in the freezer do you need for hot pockets and who really uses a freezer in a dorm. Just throw your frozed stuff in the fridge so that it thaws, quicker to cook. Not like you need longterm freezer storage for some frozen chicken breasts. :p

take it to the kitchen on your floor,

LOL, we don't have a kitchen... just a microwave in a room with a table and some chairs.

We do have a little 'pit' though. This might be the best idea...
