The problem is that SO MANY people abuse and exploit the welfare system. I can't tell you how many times I see well-dressed (usually non-English-speaking) people buying luxury groceries, and using food stamps (in CA it's a gov't debit card now) , then going out and getting in a late-model Mercedes; usually parked illegally in a handicapped space. Shameful.

If the cheating were to be stopped, the food stamp budget could be cut 90% and people who really need the help, would still get plenty.

I got bullied by a threatening strung out junkie to buy him booze with my money and in return he'd pay my groceries with his ebt/food stamps sleaze ball followed me from the hospital to the store down the street and ambushed me it was like a diplomatic mugging


I also have parents at work who take $400 in food stamps and sell em for $200 then go get a fix and don't feed their kids because "I have no money and need help"

what woody said, those people aren't here to live in this country and setup roots here. That's why they live in sardine cans for a period of time than go back home. And in China, there is severe poverty...the kind that makes our homeless situation look like opulent living.
