House votes to cut $4 billion a year from food stamp

Those are well-recited liberal talking points.

1) There are plenty of conservatives (myself included) who opposed the bail-out of Wall Street. I opposed it right as the financial "crisis" ramped-up and I oppose it to this day.

2) Companies don't make money "raping" anybody. Companies should make money by selling customers products they want at a price greater than the cost of manufacture.

3) There is one, and only one sustainable way to improve the quality of workers' lives: Force companies to compete for their labor. That competitive process drives-up wages and benefits. All these artificial methods (minimum wage, subsidies, Obamacare, etc. etc.) don't create a real demand for labor, thus they hurt workers instead of helping them.

Want proof? Just look at what we've been doing the last six years. Obama has driven one job-killing program after another and it has destroyed the employment opportunities for an entire band of people. Elections have consequences, and we'll have a displaced band of ~18-28 year olds that employers don't want for the rest of their lives. Good job Barry.

So right to work laws do none of this? These laws have done more to erode liveable wages than anything else in the last 100 yrs. Look at the average wage of every state that has adopted right to work legislation and you will find that the average wage has decreased. It therefore causes more reliance on social aid. The exact thing that this legislation was supposedly created to decrease.

Lol bro I barely make six figures, and work my ass off to get it. I think you're of the mistaken assumption that all right wingers are loaded.

Some of us are just not fully retarded.

That is the beauty of it. They have some how pulled of the biggest deception in american history. They have made people with no association of any type believe that they actually benefit from philosophies and economic agendas of the extremely wealthy. You are probly paying round 20-25% tax rate. while they are paying bout 10% and after their cpa gets done they probly actually pay about 5%. So in proportion u pay 1/5 - 1/4 of ur total income while they are probly paying about 1/30. U still think thats fair? U still think these policies benefit u? Take an in depth look at the tax rate and look at how its skewed primarily at the middle class.

Ok lets take away all the farmers subsidies that the the fed gov is currently paying to corp farms to not plant crops. Lets take away all the corp tax breaks that is currently doled out. The infrastructures that are built for them. Lets make them pay their fair share that is currently being made possible by city, state, and federal government. Lets take away the minumum wage and watch how quickly pay drops across the board. How corps will devolve back to the early 1800's where the 15 hr work day was common under inhumane conditions and if you didnt meet ur quota you were out the door. In fact adults are too stubborn lets hire their children instead. You what we dont need basic health care for everyone. Lets b a country of haves and have nots. Lets let people die b coz they cant afford basic medicine. They cant pay for it b coz theres no minimum wage laws that require at least a minimum poverty pay scale. They only work 15 hrs. If they want medical pay let them work 23 hrs. When u think subsidies and work laws all u think about is poor people. There is by far much more subsidies given to corporations and wealthy businesses than poor people and social programs.

There are approximately 6M residents in the state of Tennessee.

Of those 6M, 10% (600,000) are on some form of state assistance.

Of those same 600,000 people, they account for over 50% of the lottery tickets sold.

Statistics can be fun and useful!

I'm from Tennessee and he's speaking the truth. Everytime I'm in a gas station some scumbag is buying scratch off tickets. And most places here have big elaborate areas just for scratch off tickets. Hell I've seen several scratch off vending machines. Wtf?

And you conveniently overlook the lower unemployment rates in those right-to-work states.

I'd vastly prefer a job at $7.25 per hour than not having a job at all -- but if I did it would pay $10.00 per hour.

I love liberal logic on closed shops in non-right to work states: Someone lands a job with a private employer, yet is fired regardless of job performance if they don't join a political organization (the union). Even if they don't support the union's positions, they're still forced to join and pay dues. Maybe we should let employers force their employees to join the Tea Party (and donate "dues") in exchange for keeping their jobs as well.

I am against subsidies for corporations as well.

So u would rather work for $7.25 an hour....$7.25x40=$290 a week - 20% tax =$232 a week or $928 a month. Youre gonna pay rent, food, utilities, medical care, transportation, etc with that? Oh wait u also are against a minimum wage so ur employer tells u that u are now gonna be paid $5 an hour or they will move to india or china. Hmmm life looks kinda bleak

The assertion that with no minimum wage, someone's pay would fall from $7.25 to $5.00 per hour is ridiculous. That's like saying if it weren't for George Bush, we would have been conquered by Al Quada by now.
