Homosexual question

Why do some gay people talk differently with that lisp and a feminine voice and act extremely feminine. It sounds forced. I'm hetero and I don't act a certain way. I just act like a guy. I'm cool with gay people, but that silly way of acting is just stupid.

There are some gay people that act like normal human beings so I know it isn't linked to homosexuality. What's up?

I got this idea from watching this guy on TV with a beard. He does this crafts show and he's a perfect example.

when i clicked on this thread i thought it was gonna be more along the lines of 'which powerpuff girl is your favourite?'

I like Bubbles ... anyway

When I was 4 - 5 years old I was teased because I acted like a girl or sissy. I think it's inbred.

It took me until middle school to figure out how to act like a guy.

Well acting like a sissy is one thing, but talking with a silly lisp with your voice an octave higher than it naturally is, is another thing.

Maybe it's some type of flag for those without "gaydar." I'm not trying to be an asshole, but seriously...what is that?

yeah, but blossoms much more calm, actually mojo dojo cracks me up the best :D

ive wondered it too

this one guy came out i know.....before the voice etc low

after

the voice was higher....wore pink towels when swimming, wrapped like women do up top to hide their boobies, a smaller towel on his head

maybe he was always like this and he suppressed it? or he had bottled it up for so long its come out in a potentially more intense form.....or he was completely taking the piss ;)

lol .. I don't THINK i'm inbred in that scence, but being from Louisiana you never know ... I meant that you're born with a tendency to act like a girl.

No doubt that some people REALLY play up being "nelly" (that's what we call it), but take me for instance, I don't percieve that I act or talk gay, but Big Buck says he could tell I was gay just from how I talk.

Let's not turn this into a flame war. I want to seriously get some input here.

I forgot to add the little laughing face. No flame war intended, I was just ribbing him.

Hmmm, so maybe some gay people don't realize it? Very interesting.

Sorry man. Thanks!

pm me and I'll give you my voice mail number and tell me if you think I sound gay or not. And I was really trying to sound professional in my voice mail.

It's hard to tell since it's a recording and people usually don't sound like they do on those things. You do sound too cheery for being at work, but gay wouldn't even cross my mind from hearing that.

I left a short message so you can see if I'm gay sounding. I think I'm quite hetero, though!:)

I don't remember how Buck heard my voice .. I think he listed to the same message .. or did I leave him a message?? I don't remember.

My opinion

I think there are a number of reasons why some guys "act" more gay than others.

1. They are born with more feminine characterstics. It's not something they can control. I went for speech therapy in college, so that I could talk more like a "man".
2. Once some gays come out, they tend to flaunt it. It's like a way of saying I'm out and I'm proud of it. Maybe it's a way of overcompensating for so many years of suppressing it.
3. It also could be a way of over coming insecurity with being gay. Somtimes when I'm sick of "hiding" my sexual preference, I act more gay than normal. It's like a way of saying to the straght world, I'm here and I'm ok!

That's just my opinion. We don't have to like everyone or like the way people act. All I do is try to accept people for who they are. It doesn't mean I have to like them. I just respect them.

You really do too many drugs. Austin isn't that far away. I'll do what I can to relieve you of those vices. Keep your pants on.

any way...I have always thought about the lisp thing.

now if you are gay....than i have no prob with that...that's just you.

if your the real deal mcneal, and your gay than go on with your self.

but that lisp man.....i swear that is bull honky!

i went into a star bucks the other day and some Homosexual young man asked me if I wanted a vente' late".

And i said no I would like a medium.

and he said a vente'

ans I said no, a medium.

and he said yea, a vente'

and said no I want a fricken medium.......okay?

and he said m'kay.

thw whole time he talked to me in his lisp.

so quite innocently, while others were around.....i said......wow! where are you from,

and he said...what do you mean?

and I said are you from a different state?

and he said .ah no?

and I said, then where did you get that accent?

he...got flustered after I said that, and said he was born here.

and I said OH?

and some granny in an electric wheel chair was laughing in the corner.

how the hell you can you argue with such a modest guy!!! I can't win. How about we say WE'RE equally humorous. And smart. And good looking. And modest. And....

it's mostly natural, inborn, though i'm sure some people try to accentuate it.

remember those "sissies" from elementary school? fags. 75% of gays give themselves away with the way they pronounce their S's...i wouldn't call it a lisp, per se, but it's VERY easy to pick out, even from across the room.

personally, any time i notice ANYTHING which even remotely seems to make me seem "gay" i try to eliminate it. maybe that's wrong, but i hate to be at all stereotypical.

johnny, PM me your voice mail number. now i'm curious.

johnny and i both live in houston, both gay, both dashingly handsome (okay, maybe THAT'S a slight overstatement), yet we've never met.

Geez. Who gives a shit how someone talks?

Join me in Barcelona in March. Everyone lisps. It's part of the language.

Maybe I'll start a university linguistic program in Fagonics, similiar to Ebonics. Then everyone can have another useless argument about the way cultural marginalization is a language phenomenon.

Anyway....I don't even think of effeminacy as sterotypical any more. If there's a sterotyped homo these days, it's the dbol-gobbling circuit boy with a crew cut and conservative politics. Further, without exception, the guys who are most concerned about being "straight acting"...never are.

Ok runner .. you have a pm ..

I started working out in the evenings now .. how late are you at Ballys?

I'm secretly in love with this very very dark, very built hispanic guy I see at Ballys, but I think he's attached.

Of course you act a certain way - you are socially programmed to act the way males act in your society..........

Mojojojo kicks ass. He is the best on the show. Buttercup rules, cause she is HARDCORE!:D

few women act as "feminine" as some of the gay men I've seen. It just seems like playacting.
As a corollary, few men are as "masculine" as some the Elvis lesbians I've run away from. Do they have peanut-butter-banana-test sandwiches?

Does that devil looking guy on PPG have a name? or is it just "Him" ???

And how come there is only one episode with "All Beef Pattie" ??

I think you are absolutely right. The only thing I would add is possibility #4: Some gay guys are outcasts as kids...sometimes even through highschool age...some of these guys meet other gay people, become part of a group, and take on some "belonging" or "joining" characteristics of their new accepted group...like valley girls talking the same or jocks saying "Bra"....

GT, are you planning a switch in sexual orientation? Why all these questions about taking it up the butt and gay mannerisms?

LOL, This was all an experiment. I wanted to see how many threads or posts it would take before you or Johnny would post that exact post. Didn't take long.

Don't fret though, if I get fucked over by another girl like I just recently did, you may have another soldier amongst your ranks. Either that or a priest.

I'm very confident in my sexuality, though, and I'm defintely not shy. Should I ever decide to change my mind, I'll no problem admitting it. 68 loves puss, though. Always will.

Actually I thought this guy was very very masculine in his looks and mannerisms .. until he opened his mouth. Then I thought "what a queen" .
