Hey gaining this weight: normal or above avg, subpar?

Hey guys in about 4 weeks I gained 5lbs total, so about 3 lbs of muscle 2...water/fat. I am bulking so no cardio and lots of calories...
I also gained 8-10lbs on my 1rpm for Bench press (from 165 to 175ish). Ok I went from 155-160lbs in weight (13 BF) and BP was at 135 for 2x8 , now at 140 for 2x8. DLs from 225 3x6 to 240 3x7-8
Squats from 160- 3x8 to 175 3x8 (ass to grass). Are these gains (natural, im a pinner trying to get back into after 1 yr off due to rot. cuff injury) normal, above avg, or subpar? If its subpar, i will post up my entire routine and u guys can take it apart. normal/ above avg.. ill keep doing the routine. thanks guys!

depends are you a hard gainer?

5lbs is only a little over a week, but if you are putting 100% effort then that is better than NO weight gain

Those gains are on the way to being equivilant to a low dose first cycle of AS for 4 weeks. Good gains bro!

3 pounds of muscle in 4 weeks is nothing to scoff at...

keep up the good work... a stronger muscle is a bigger muscle, so you know you're getting stronger which means you're getting bigger...

That's good, keep in mind some of it might be water. So give or take 1-2 pounds on daily basis it's still a good deal.

Isn't this aphorism usually the other way around? Plenty of people (say, competitive lifters who want to stay in a weight class) gain a lot of strength without getting bigger.

Anyway, it sounds like you're making pretty good progress so far, although strength gains in one month after a long layoff obviously aren't necessarily a reliable gauge of a program. Keep us updated.

I would say that is doing great, considering you weigh so very little. that is gaining almost 2% of your bodyweight in muscles in just 4 weeks. That would be the same as me gaining 4 /12 pounds in 4 weeks, and I cant come close to that now. I have been training for a long time though, a little over 20 yrs so gains come slow now. Did you do this natural too?

hey sry didnt respond sooner, but thanks guys. ive always been a fairly decent at gaining weight , bu ti didnt know if it was an optimal ammount. im guessing i gained this much becase i was off for a while and just got ack into it. maldorf- yes, it is completely natural.. hell not even whey protein cuz i cant stand drinking the stuff i bought (never buy whey gourmet!). lol

Great job. Its good to hear you didnt jump right in and go on a cycle of AAS. Looks like you are growing great right now.
