I saw a vid where that new honda raced one of the fastest track cars in Japan the other day. The Honda was quite a bit faster in the 1/4 but in the turns the car was able to maintain better speed. The car put up the faster time, but bike have way more acceleration.

If I remember right, the drag bikes hit like 170's/180's in the 1/4 but most of the speed is built in the first 1/8. I would guess a stock litre bike could hit at least 90's.

But if you're talking snowmachines, the speedos on those are never that accurate. See if you can get a radar gun to know for sure.

Not too bad! What 700 are you runnin'? Is it stock?

modded out xc...studs, clutch kit, pipe, aftermarket hood, ski's...i guess the horse is around 125

I'm dying to test my Ducati actually. I have a 999R (2005) but it's getting a +2 tooth rear sprocket and a set of racing pipes. They claim it's 170ish HP after that and I believe the bike only weights 340 or so (tons of carbon fiber and magnesium).

SWEEET!!

We're all about the mountain machines up here. I'd say 75% of the market is mountain sleds.

arctic cat m7 is a badass sled...my next sled is gonna be a rocky mtn king 800 (polaris)...my neighbour is gonna sell it to me after this winter. got the long track (152) and paddle track, should go good in the fluff.

what kind of machine do you ride?
is trail riding popular in alaska? do they groom? how long is the season? do you always get the snow?

I had an RMK800 but I sold it since I'm moving out of state. Great sled for sure! You'll love it.

They don't really groom any trails up here but there's always good trail riding. Alot of fun screaming down the rivers up here too.

You can ride from about November to April without thrashing your machine on the rocks.

I don't know about Juneau, but not in Anchorage. You can ride in Wasilla and all through the Mat-Su Valley though.

did you pipe your rmk? someone was telling me you cannot...something to do with the jetting, that it leans and fattens according to temp and a pipe will fuck it up.

If you pipe it you have to re-jet it. Mine was piped, reeded, and re-jetted with a 151" 2" paddle.

the owner was telling me that you cannot pipe it because it has a built in valve that leans and fattens according to temp. i forget the name of this bit of technology...the sled is a 01. anyway, according to him, a pipe would fuck this up

because my sled and most others you have to manually change your jetting, it doesn't change auto with the temp.

That's crap. Check with a dealer. Everyone I know who has an RMK800 & 900 have piped them.
