I would suggest that you stay away from squats and deadlifts and anything where you must lift weights from floor. this puts excess pressure on that region of back. Speak to orthopedic

unfortunately this is an area I am all to familiar with... I have SEVERE back problems in regards to bulging/herniated disks.

Stay away from Squats, Dead Lift, Military Press and any cleans that you might do. Do not do any lifts that put direct stress on your lower back. The quicker you try to come back, the easier it is going to be to re-injur that thing. Take it sloooow, otherwise you could really really regret it.

(just fyi: I have 4 verts in my back that are not normal. My two lowest are fused together, then I have a disk, then my next 2 verts up are fused together. So that 1 disk inbetween those 4 verts takes on so much stress... its almost constantly bulging in my back, accounting for a MASS of sleepless nights and uncomfortable driving trips, and shortened workouts. So I know back pain :worried: )

Could heal, if not you need to see a spine surgeon, for surgical decompression.

Very common. If the Nucleuses is not ruptured it could heal, if the nuclei is ruptured will need surgery,

No fun. Don’t lift, you will just make it worst.

I have 3 RUPTURED disks in my lumbar (lower) spine. DO NOT SQUAT, DEADLIFT OR RUN until you've seen a doctor and been referred to a specialist. Also, do not pick up weights from the floor. You will be amazed as to what you cannot do with a lower aching spine. It's like breaking a thumb and trying to eat with chop sticks. Get it fixed. My discs are ruptured. It's too late for me as I will have to live the rest of my life with the back of an 80 year old man.

As for the GH. There is a book called "Growing Young with GH". It states some positive results for folks who used GH and have back problems. However, the book does not say what those back problems were. If anyone has read it and can correct me please do so.

Best of luck.

Bump to what everyone else is saying. I have L 4-5 herniated and I used to love to squat but cant do that movement any more.

use DECA (at your own risk of course). i have a herniated L5-S1. it is the only thing that allows me to be pain free, and lift heavy.
