i got a hemorrhoid about two weeks ago, im guessing it was from lifting but im not to sure. I have stopped working out legs and only have been doin upper body workouts. my question is, are hemorrhoids caused by weight lifting, and should i stop lifting weights all together untill i recover or is doing upper body workouts ok?

IMO only squats really put a person at risk of exacerbating hemorrhoids.

I've had some minor problems with that, and I'd go along with RottenWillow's theory. It only caused me problems when lifting from a low squat, and in fact the worst problem is squatting even without lifting anything (such as to work on a project on the floor, etc). DEFINITELY don't sit for long periods on a bench or hard car seat, etc. Also there are other things your doctor will suggest, that will help the healing.
