Help.......

Was just at the gym doing my wed. 5X5.. On the first set of Overhead military press I felt a lot of pressure in my back to the left of my spinal column. With each breath I take in there is a stabbing pain in that same area of my back, and right under my rib cage on the front. I did not finish the rest of the workout but am still in pain. Wat happened? :worried: .... Thanks...........

Ummmm....
I doubt it's your liver. It's UNDER you ribcage? Like beneath the surface? It kinda sounds to me like you strained one of the muscles b/t your ribs, but that's a total guess. If it goes away soon then I bet that's what it is.

I belive that something has been 'tweaked'. put ice on the area for the first 48 hours and then hev nce warm baths to loosen the muscle. Get a sports massage/ professional to check it out. I doubt that it is serious, but if you don't get it sorted out then you might have a problem.

more than likely tweaked a spinal erector or posterior serratus. when you breathe in it can radiate pain all around your ribcage. worst case scenario is that you have a rib out. i highly doubt your liver is about to explode.... ;)

ps...i've had this same thing before, a few times.

LMAO..i too never thought anything was wrong with my liver.. thats ridiculous. I think that wat u described is exactly wat happened to me. It's still pretty painful two days later and I'm suppposed to workout tonight...should I or wat? I really dont want to make it worse and I'm not even sure I could get through my squat workout alone without breathing properly. Thanks for the comments....

As bignate said, you've probably got a rib out. It happens to me probably 3 times a year. I've got a buddy that's a chiro and he 'puts it back in' for me (no charge, either). It's painful, but a good chiro will fix it in 1 or 2 visits.
