Help: Which suit?

zackdarnell

New member
I'm going to be ordering a suit, and I'm not sure which I should get. I am considering the following:
1. Inzer Champion
2. Inzer Z-suit
3. Titan Superior (Victor)
4. Titan Centurion

Any opinions on which I should get? This will be my 1st squat suit. My current max is 485 lbs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Take it your in the IPF/USAPL/USPF, if not there are better suits, I liked the Z-suit to train in, the Titan Dual Quad is great-squated 723, in that and dble briefs at my first meet. Overall I think Titan has way more options and better fit/materials, I'ld go with them.

Thanks, DB. I think I'm going to go with the Titan Centurion or custom dual quad.

Any more opinions?

Also, if there are better suits, which ones are better? I will mainly compete NASA and APA, though I will prob. do a couple APF.

Not sure about the rules in the APA or NASA, APF rules are pretty open to heavy duty gear like canvas or denim bench shirts and squat suits also the Boss suit from Titan. The Titan dual quad is allowed everywhere so that would be a safe bet until you start spending time and money on more expensive suits that might not fit you as well.Find out their rule differences also, that way you don't screw yourself by waiting for a signal that they might or might not give etc.

Here are the rules concerning squat suits, from the rule books:

NASA:
1. Costume
The lifting costume shall consist of a one-piece full length
lifting suit of one-ply stretch material without any additional patches or padding. The straps must be worn over the shoulders at all times while lifting in competition. The lifting suit shall also be subject to the following requirements:
(a) It may Be of any color or colors.
(b) The lifting suit may bear the badge, emblem, logo and/or inscription of the lifters nation, national association, or sponsor or equipment manufactures name or logo. That which is offensive or liable to bring the sport into disrepute is not allowed.
(c) Seams and hems must not exceed 3 cm in width and 0.5 cm in thickness. Only non-supportive weightlifting/wrestling type suits may have seams and hems exceeding 3 cm in width.
(d) Seams may be protected or strengthened by narrow gauge webbing or stretch material not exceeding 2 cm in width or 0.5 cm in thickness.
(e) Length of the leg is must not exceed 15 cm from the middle of the crotch. Measurement is to be taken on a line from the top seam of the crotch down the inside of the leg.
f) Any alterations to the costume which exceed the established widths, lengths or thickness previously stated shall make the suit illegal for competition.

APA
No canvas.
The following equipment is allowed:
INZER: Z-SUIT, CHAMPION SUIT, HARDCORE SUIT, IRON WRAPS, BLAST SHIRT, HD BLAST SHIRT, HPHD BLAST SHIRT, EHPHD BLAST SHIRT, ERECTOR DEADLIFT SHIRT, 3.5 METER KNEE WRAPS, SINGLE AND DOUBLE DENIM BENCH SHIRTS, BENCH SHIRTS WITH VELCRO BACKING
ELITE: SQUAT SUITS AND WRAPS
MARATHON: SUPERSUITS, DEADLIFT SUPERSUIT, SUPERWRAPS
CRAIN: POWER SUIT (PREVIOUSLY "OUTLAW POWER SUIT"), GENESIS POWERWRAP (PREVIOUSLY BIG RED POWERWRAP), GENESIS POWER WRIST WRAP (PERVIOUSLY "BIG RED POWER WRISTWRAP").
TITAN: SQUAT SUITS, CENTURION SUIT, NEW VERSION CENTURION SUIT, NXG POLYESTER MATERIAL SUITS, NXG POLYESTER MATERIAL BOSS SUIT, RED DEVIL WRAPS
FRANTZ: SINGLE DENIM BENCH SHIRT, DOUBLE DENIM BENCH SHIRT, DENIM BENCH SHIRTS WITH VELCRO STRAPS IN BACK, SINGLE LAYER SQUAT SUIT, DOUBLE LAYER SQUAT SUIT, FRANTZ BENCH SUIT, FRANTZ DEADLIFT SUIT, FRANT DEADLIFT SHIRTS

Well the NASA rules look oldschool, meaning stick with Titan dual quad maybe the boss. APA your good to go, Titan Boss and Dble denim Inzer bench shirt.

Hey DBCooper,
Do you know what to ask for from Titan. I called them and they said they had some different suits that were made out of boss material. I am gonna order one and was just curious to know which boss suit you used? Also, do you remember how much they charged for it? Thanks man
