HELP! Shoulder's need to grow.

JimBoy

New member
I am looking for some shoulder exercises to plug into my routine. I would like to get broader.Im doing a 4x 6-8 routine with 4 exercises per muscle group.

EX: Chest= 4 sets off 6-8 reps w/ Flat bench, Incline, Decline, Cable crossovers or fly's.

Any advice on what shoulder/delt exercises I should do?

Barbell presses, or Dumbbell presses, upright rows, medial raises(side), anterior raises (front), posterior (rear) delt raises.

eat more.. doesn't matter what exercises or rep scheme you are doing, if you are not eating enough to drive weight upward, and increasing your load each week you won't gain anything.

I figure because it's exactly what worked for me, so I guess tested is proved....
"The way I figure is u press enough throughout the week, so on shoulder day if u press too much u take away from ur ability to hit ur lateral and rear head.As presses only hit one head.Get them too tight and u can forget about max effort fot theother2"-tfuray

thats what u sent to me in K msg, just putting that here so everyone can see, makes sense

i would suggest that doing forward, lateral raises is to increase separation.. not mass..

Actually since I started doing more and HEAVIER(might have been the ticket, not sure) latteral's and less presses my delts have gotten pretty sizeable, within my own comparison of course, not in comparison with some of you freaks on here LOL.

yup...heavy presses is all u need, forget the accessory stuff like lateral raises, etc....if you can press overhead your bodyweight you will have big shoulders.

Check out the blurb on training I just posted as a separate thread.

I would do BB shoulder presses 4 sets (first two aim for 2-5 reps, and then more like 8-12 for the last two). Then 3 sets of DB laterals, followed by 3 sets of DB rear delts.

Then, 3-4 days later, superset front delt raises with a rear delt machine exercise for 3-4 sets. If you feel up to it, throw in some very light cable laterals.

MAke the first day your heavy day, and the second more of a pump day.

Whats weight are we talking about and how many reps do you do? Perfect form or do you try and cheat a little to keep increasing the weight?

NO cheat on the b-bell just usually 4 sets of 10,8,6,4. On my latterals I swing the wait, within reason.

I start out with the heavier weight so that I can lift more, and then back off to the lighter stuff and focus on getting a good pump. 2 sets of around 2-6 reps, and then two sets at around 8-12 reps.
