I tend to agree with the gieghness factor. The Nissan is a nicer car.mkazzbmf said:Go with the Nissan dude....they are nice...ford escapes are geigh. Im with your wife on this one.

SO - which way are you leaning?HeatherRae said:My dad retired from Ford, so I like when people buy American. That being said, the best car I ever had was a Nissan Maxima. It went over 200,000 miles with NO PROBLEMS. I finally gave it to my brother, but he traded it in later. I bet the damn thing is STILL running...lol.
I agree - but we can't find an '06 hybrid anywhere - they sell like hotcakes - we are forced to go '07 with the hybrid.Smurfy said:if you are truly concerned for getting your money's worth, then I hope you're not buying brand new. AT LEAST, go for a 1yr old car or a demo or something. Off the bat, youre saving thousands.

Exactly - that's what I meant to say. However, I see hybrids all over the place.manny78 said:They dont sell like hotcakes, it's just that your dealership (like the others btw) wont get many of these, so the few they have will sell pretty fast. Cant even remember the last time I saw a hybrid (no matter the brand)....
OK then the $ you save monthly on gas (you wont know ACTUAL savings until you drive for a while) will be eaten up with extra cost on the front end for purchasing a '07. but whatever.reno240 said:I agree - but we can't find an '06 hybrid anywhere - they sell like hotcakes - we are forced to go '07 with the hybrid.
Yeah.... the thing about it is a year old Murano, without the new car interest rate is about the same monthly payment. If I can't save 80 bucks a month on the payment then the Escape wins. Plus, I just want a hybrid.Smurfy said:OK then the $ you save monthly on gas (you wont know ACTUAL savings until you drive for a while) will be eaten up with extra cost on the front end for purchasing a '07. but whatever.
so what youre saying is you'd rather take out a larger loan and pay more in interest (assuming youre not paying cash and you arent getting some 0% APR deal) in order to get slightly better gas mileage.
well good luck then.reno240 said:Yeah.... the thing about it is a year old Murano, without the new car interest rate is about the same monthly payment. If I can't save 80 bucks a month on the payment then the Escape wins. Plus, I just want a hybrid.![]()
