I know that you love your parents and they love you.
Having said that -
If you REALLY don't like them telling you what to do with the "things" they give you... then do not accept them. TRUST ME - my mother has NEVER given me anything WITHOUT major strings attached.
It SUCKS ASS being on your own and busting your butt to get the things that you not only want - BUT NEED.
I admire you working hard in school, but if there were NO OTHER WAY then YOU WOULD FIND A WAY TO SUPPORT YOURSELF.
Big words from me... I haven't started school yet. But if anyone can not afford to fail out of school - IT'S ME.
I don't think that all of this is a really big problem. You already knew the answers to your question BEFORE you asked them I suspect!
Bfold is a great guy and you are a sweet girl. I wish the two of you nothing but happiness and mutual respect. But one of the first lessons that you will have to learn that NOTHING your parents give you will be WITHOUT strings... and I mean NOTHING!
Either put up with their "gentle suggestions" (hehehe) or pay the bill yourself. It is part of growing up.
I have already told ALL of my daughters that at the age of eighteen they are getting the boot. I will HELP THEM with college, but I will NOT PAY for several years of a PARTY! I payed for my own tution when I went to college and though I lived at home (sucked ass) I worked my behind off in my parent's business so I was VERY RESPONSIBLE - BUT STUPID because instead of finishing college I got married.... now I will have to support myself and four children while going back to school. Guess what? I made it this far with some help from my family and friends and of course, God. I have no doubt that I will make it through, just as I have ZERO doubt that both YA'LL will be fine!
