First off I'm 24 and weight about 165lbs. I've been using test cyp for about a month. Whenever I inject, I first take a shower, then wipe the injection site with alcohol, then wipe the bottle with alcohol, then use one needle to pull and another fresh needle to inject - always new needles.
About a month into being "on" this gear, I decided to up the dose of my test cyp (250/ml) from 0.5cc per injection to 2.0cc per injection (I inject weekly, but now intend to inject a lesser amount twice weekly after this experience). I normally inject into my glutes, but decided last week to inject into my shoulder - I injected at least one inch into the muscle. About 24 hours after injecting I noticed my arm was becoming somewhat swollen, warm to the touch, red and uncomfortable. Another 24 hours later (48 hours after injection) my shoulder was very VERY swollen, hard as rock, very warm, very tense, and very painful when I touched the injection site. Five days later the swelling and pain seems to be slightly less - well, maybe it's my imagination that the swelling is less, but the level of discomfort is certainly less because I now have more movement in my shoulder. I went to my family doctor anyway and gave the whole story - after the doc gave me a long lecture he agreed that the area is swollen, and put me on anti-biotic "just in case" it is, or is becoming, infected.
On day six (today) the swelling and pain still seems to be getting slightly better - it's tough to tell but I'm using my arm more so without pain so I tend to think it's getting better. Anyhow, I've noticed a bump around the injection site about one inch in diameter. This bump is swollen and hard, and if I push on it, well, it's unpleasant, but not excruciatingly painful. After reading about some of these cases online I'm worried I have a "sterile abscess" that the doctor didn't diagnose. Thoughts are running through my head that I should be going to emergency and getting this thing drained, or doing something other than just taking anti-biotic and waiting to see what happens.
A friend of mine who uses the exact same gear and from the same batch tells me that for my size/weight and short experience with the gear I should have never put 2cc's into my shoulder all at once. He thinks I've overdosed my muscle and that my muscle is now having trouble absorbing it all and is even rejecting it, and that if I give it two weeks it *should* eventually absorb or dissipate. His advice is also to wait it out, take Advil to reduce swelling, and use a hot compress on my arm a few times a day to help things along. I'd like to believe his advice, but I'm more paranoid and think that maybe I should be getting this drained.
Has anyone had any experience with these sorts of things, or can anyone offer any advice on what I should do now that I've screwed up? With some of the stories I've read online about abscesses, I'm worried that this can get very serious. Thanks ahead of time for your advice and for not bashing me for my stupidity!
